I was an employee at Hatteras and gave her first painting

You are an artist! There's nothing like the original paint on these boats when paint was meant to last. My '81 Hatteras has the original paint, and it looks fantastic! Paint vs. Gelcoat? I lean toward paint.

Can you chare the cost the marina yard charge you for all the work done ? That look like very costly😮! The boat came out BEAUTIFUL!

It's almost impossible for me to break down the costs of the bottom and hull work because we had many other things done that were included in the total bill. What I can say is that the yard charges $35 per hour for labor and there was a hell of a lot of hours put into making the boat look this good. This is in comparison to California yards that were charging more than $100 an hour for the same work (though I think these guys did a better job). The initial estimates of $15,000 for the bottom and hull paint was very conservative, but I think the boat was in rougher condition than the yard first thought. But that should give some sort of idea of the costs involved. Thank you for watching and your comment.

Thank you for sharing that information as we are looking into doing some similar things to our 1976 Hatteras 53. Side question, do they allow owners to work on their boat?

What type of finish was applied? It looks terrific.

We used Awlgrip Clipper White paint. The painters did a great job on the boat. We are very happy with the results. Thank you for your comment and watching.

How did the condition deteriorate to such a poor , sorry state

It's a 40 year old boat and needed some fresh blood to love her enough to spend this kind of money on her. It takes a special type of person to spend this amount of money on a boat nearly as old as the owners, but we think it'll be worth it, at least to us.

do you have the max range with 2390 gallon of fuel? on what speed? how much for a refurbish? thanks
@cruising5to1 Жыл бұрын
We hold 1490 gallons of fuel, which will get us more than 2000 miles with 10% reserve at 7 knots. I've lost track of money put into refurbishing, but I had a $50,000 budget to begin. This would get us a value that is little lower than the other LRCs on the market for exactly what we were looking for and we're tickled to death with the outcome.
