Clear as mud on the pins, why not use still zoom pics esp on that 6 pin and use a pointing device eg cocktail stick? And dont use electrical tape as protection as the heat will melt the adhesive. Use flat shrink wrap tube instead and just slide over the decoder

Great video I want to know how much do your decoders start from and what is the best chip for the Hornby rail road class 47 GBRF
@HattonsModelRailways3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, our decoders start from £15 for an 8 pin harness decoder, and the 'DCR-8Pin-Harness' is an ideal DCC decoder for your GBRf Class 47. Here's a link to our decoder range: bit.ly/3kt0cVU

If the train is dcc ready does that mean the circuit board is already fitted and the decoder fits into it? Also for the sound if I get a sound capable controller where does the sound come from, do I need to look for a sound compatible train or is it down to the controller whether or not I get sound?

If you're loco is DCC ready it simply means it's ready if you wish to fit a decoder your self which usually means removing the body of the loco as in the video... if your loco states usually on the box and usually on the underside of the loco DCC fitted then the decoder will have been fitted by the manufacturer... your DDC handset will control all the aspects stated on on whatever Decoder you have fitted in your loco but for sounds your loco must be fitted with a small speaker.. It's worth bearing in mind that DCC sound fitted locos can be perchesed. I hope this was helpful

Hi Tony, welcome back to the hobby! A lot of the controllers seem tough at first but are really easy to pick up, especially as we're able to help you with any questions along the way. You shouldn't have any issues using an Elite controller but feel free to ask any further questions, either here or by getting in touch with our Product Expert team via email, telephone or www.hattons.co.uk - Dave
