In my neighborhood every year there's this one house who makes there own haunted house in their backyard with lots of live actors and really good costumes + makeup! I go every year and they always change it up to make it even scarier, and they give out full size candy bars. 😋 Super cool and really scary!! And I can't forget that they chase u with chainsaws in the haunted house too! 👀

This hobby can burn you out. I am building my first haunt in 12 years. I used to use 2×2 8-foot long stakes to build the walls in the backyard and a similar tarp/black fabric. Placed black duct tape on the fabric where I fastened the fabric to the walls using a staple gun. Unfortunately I live in a very windy area, so I will probably keep the haunt to my garage only from here on out. Thanks for sharing your video. I love seeing how others design their haunts. It isn't cheap and takes a lot of work... but I love it.

I feel your wind frustrations, we always have heavy wind and more times than not, rain, during October here in the valley. But we must soldier on! I love watching and getting tips/inspiration from other haunters! 🧟♀

Do those tents stand up well in wind? Think of getting one for next year, just don’t know because winds here in texas are extreme sometimes
@Carb-A-Ween Жыл бұрын
The tents can withstand wind if they are anchored down. The tent comes with straps but I would always check the weather each day and take the covers off if needed. Good luck on your next Halloween project 🤘

wood is expensive these days. I do something similar for my haunted walk through but use 1/2 inch PVC frames instead of wood. if you're placing it on ground you can hammer 4-foot rebar into the ground and place the PVC directly over it. I buy 10-foot PVC and run them into 1 piece of 6 foot and 1 of 4 foot. using 2 pieces of 10-foot i can get a PVC "frame" that is a 6 foot high, 4 foot wide rectangle. it's lighter-weight than wood and easier to "re-work" it if you decide to move a wall or change shapes. some folks use landscape fabric or plastic sheets to cover the frames. great video by the way. love the enthusiasm for halloween!

Did I miss the part where you put those fun house balls together? I love that idea for our clown section. How'd you get them all strung together? And with lights?
@Carb-A-Ween3 ай бұрын
The lights are from home depot. The balls are your regular ball pit balls. Use needle and fishing line for the balls. And I had black lights on top from spirit halloween 🎃 Thanks for watching ✌️

Why is weed fabric best and not something like tarp?
@Carb-A-Ween Жыл бұрын
Haha my logic was the wind. It was so air can pass through and not blow my whole structure down. Also I built in sections so I can disassemble later if a storm came.

I realize this is a home haunt, but please check the flammability of the fabric. It needs to have an A rating, which means after holding an open flame on the material for 60 seconds and removing it, the material has to put itself out. Please also use heavier duty extension cords with a ground. Keep wiring overhead to remove trip hazards and all lights should be LED to keep heat to a minimum. Have fun, but be safe!
