This is very clever. Any splice of the AC power should be inside a non-combustible junction box. Junction boxes are pretty cheap, so this would add only a couple dollars to the build. There are also inexpensive motion detectors that have a power socket, which means you could avoid splicing the wires at all--just plug the speakers into the motion sensor. Here's one example: www.homedepot.com/p/Westek-Plug-In-Motion-Activated-Control-MLC4BC/203675444

Could you also splice a wire for lighting? I'd like for the sensor to activate light and sound onto an inanimate creepy figure.

That is a cool way to have your audio going in a small area. I need to work on our audio for this coming season.

Cool. I now even have one without the motion sensor that splits into other speakers (using a Stereo Y Adapter). This has many application possibilities and it's cheaper than most pre-built options.

Is that one of the little eclipse MP3 players from Wal-Mart?
@HawthorneManorHauntedHouse7 жыл бұрын
Yes. I'm learning that they are not completely reliable as I've had a couple fail. But they are very inexpensive and they are one of a few that work while plugged in. I keep a couple extra on-hand just in case.

Hawthorne Manor Haunted House That's funny. I have 2 of those and they say connection and stop playing when I plug it into the wall.
