I have been to this site twice once in 2004 and again in 2009. Absolutely beautiful! We were told the people were rather small and the steps were made larger so the people would have to crawl up them. I don't remember the exact reason, but I believe it had something to do with submission and/or keeping the head down. (Our guide told us, but I have forgotten)

It made them CRAWL UP as submission. I was there in 2000.

That is well done video, the drone footage really helps show the scale of the place. I love that they still let you climb.

Thank you! 🙏 I hope that doesn’t change as far as access to getting to the top. Many other places have.

Good one...Check out all these foundations on these structures, all the oldest ones will have Megalithic style foundation stones also found around the world, Peru, Egypt, Cambodia, Turkey, literally everywhere around the world. Mostly serpent culture, Pre History is getting as interesting as traditional history, like Mayans and Inca. Thanks

Yes! It is evident that cultures in every part of the planet have been building on top of older cultures, and those cultures on top of even older cultures and on and on! Even in some of our most modern cities there is evidence of this, even in America.

@@WanderingWolf Cool, I was down there in the early 90's ...Talk of pre-history was pretty much non-existence back then. I think we are pretty close to solve the mystery, letting the truth out organically is important but it seems now is the time that a lot of people are interested in who shared our Earth before or with us. Thanks Guys, fun stuff, stay safe

I was partial to Xunantunich, plus there is more to get into in that area as well. I put out more videos on our travels in that area, Belize Raptor Center, Ajaw Chocolate and Lower Dover….all alot of fun. Thank you so much for watching and supporting!

They are both impressive.its best to hire a guide to fully understand the history instead of saying "i think" kristane edwards here a local tour guide from Belize price ranging for guided service here is $30US. Get to see know learn and take pictures for memories.
@WanderingWolf2 жыл бұрын
@@kristanebejerano3283 Excellent advice for quite a lot of travelers! Thank you! However I actively avoid tour guides as it is never conducive to filming the way we do and I prefer to study up on places and explore on my own! Part of the adventure. Also, never be afraid to share what you think….if your wrong someone out there will almost always correct you and then you’ve learned something new! Thank you for watching and sharing!

The reason they "plastered over" the frieze was so it could be studied 50, 100 or 200 years from now, when the Mayan language and culture will be better understood. Can't put it in a museum, so "preserve" it in place.
