My ex-husband was from Oil City. The area around there is beautiful. I could believe that there are hauntings, though. It can also be eerie. Happy to learn some of the history of the area.

Devils Hopyard in East Haddam Connecticut…. Very interesting place that is known as a vortex and has a rich history of occult activity…

I have been here and I agree it was nice used in the 20s for poor men to forest the area. Very spooky place felt as if I was watched.

I have been to Babcock State Park many times. Beautiful park. Thanks for the info. So interesting. I have read about that story. You can buy books of the Hauntings of Babcock at the gift shop.

Silver Springs State Park in Silver Springs, Florida.

Mounds state park in Indiana USA is very creepy place. It's a burial ground for giants !! When some of the mounds were excavated they found skeletons of very large people. And the native Americans from the area have oral history of giants in Indiana. It's a large wooded area along the missinewa river with lots of burial mounds and one area is a huge structure that marks the solstices and equinoxes and it's where ceremonies were held.. And may still be held by people that play with the occult.

In Texas, there is a park called Palmentto state park near a small community called Outtine, is said to have a "unseen" beast that be heard but not seen. Stories have been said for about 100 years. Similar what exists in the swamps of Louisiana!!!
