Looks good. Few tips to avoid wood shims altogether. I cut the top and bottom jamb pieces the full length of the opening. Dry fit and mark my leg locations. Square off of those marks and make my box. The jamb slides right in and everything is already centered, avoiding shims on the right and left. Depending on the height I set a few screw shims for the legs. If the sill framing is dead level then I just base my reveals on that and avoid bottom shims as well. Before sliding the jamb in I preset screw shims at the top closer to the window so I can just nail the back side of the extension jamb and the nails in the casing support the front. Sounds like extra work but it's not at all. You screw shim every window before starting any trim and it's very satisfying to just slide a jambs in and nail away.

I've never experienced any window or door casing or baseboard work that came out appealing using so call screw as shims. Using that method takes longer, and the window sill never has ever look so crooked. And reveals especially will look jacked as shit

Then ask a 5 year old to build your next house and see how long it lasts. You’re so arrogant, yet you can’t see that using sustainable resources to build is more cost effective and would allow more Europeans to both have homes and not be forced to live in apartments. Additionally, wood is generally stronger in earthquakes and hurricanes which is why most homes in California are not built of stone. There are houses in this country over 100 years old, do some research before pulling this opinion of yours out your rear end. But if you want to pay more so that you can get a smaller house that lasts longer than you need to live in it, go for it. I’ve seen the cost of homes even in rural Britain, this dogmatic idea about using bricks is literally why the housing is so expensive. By the way, 5 year olds play with blocks more than sheathing. It doesn’t take a genius to lay bricks, and your homes still use other materials for interior walls, support beams, etc. it just wastes time and money. Must not be very intelligent if you think laying bricks like legos is the sign of a smart adult.

The top tier pros will attach the trim to the jamb first, pre shim the for the jamb,, and install as one piece. *** Very important, the miter joints must be better secured (not shown in this in this video), as you will have miter separation as the trim expands and contacts, this usually happens in the first 6 months and totally ruins any miters that looked so good when installed.
