I inherited loads of silk scarves from my mom, after giving about a dozen away to her closest friends and family. She used to wear one, every day, to brighten her outfit; they were her trademark accessory. We all wear her scarves to honour her. I use them to tie back my hair as well as around my neck or shoulders; the large ones are great for warm days, when you're walking in and out of heavily air-conditioned spaces and don't want to drag around something heavier with you.

Since you asked... Goods worthy of auction, like a house, carry title. A cloud on the title could render her purchase vulnerable to recission (mandatory return and refund). A cloud could arise where the property had been obtained improperly (eg conveyed to someone other than the named heir or outright stolen) at some earlier stage in the item's existence. Auction houses guard against this through insurance (eg Lloyd's of London, etc.) which is careful not to underwrite without a demonstration of due diligence. So, her certificate essentially not only affirms that the item is what it purports to be (ie authentic) but also that she is its undisputed owner (there are no stray heirs out there with viable claims that could be filed in court).

I don't buy luxury brands, but vintage or local artists. Silk is lovely for your hair, especially curly hair, it helps to keep your curls together. I get so many compliments with a silk scarf in my hair, either wrapped around like a turban or tied to the side like a bow. My curls pop out the front and frame my face. It's also a great way to show off artwork 💖

I was going to say just that, silk scarves are great especially for all sorts of curly or even frizy hair, and they can be used the way old ladies used them: to protect your hairstyle from the weather, while giving you a fancy look. I don’t know if it’s just me but the way she organized her closet was so inefficient for the space that she had, I feel like with as much money as she has she could definitely get somebody to personally organize her closet so that it looks way better. Because right now we’re just looks messy- and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a closet looking like you actually wear the clothes and not like it’s just to be put on display but at the same time if you’re going to do a closet tour and you’re as rich as Gabi is you should at least put some effort into fixing everything up so there’s like crazy organization going on for no reason.

I love silk scarves! They’re flair. I worked in the wine industry for decades and I had to have good accessories because my job took its toll on my clothes-I had both restaurant and retail accounts and I had to go from spending my mornings rebuilding displays to showing $500 Burgundies to Master Sommeliers, so a good scarf often made the difference between just wearing a T shirt and pants and an actual accessoried outfit (decent leather goods and lipstick didn’t hurt either-but it was hard to go from frazzled to pressed over the course of a typical day and those scarves were lifesavers). I wore my 3, quite now vintage Hermès scarves, for pretty much every possible accessorizing purpose-neck, hair, bag (not just around the handle), belt of my pants, etc. When not in use, keep them in their boxes and tissues (gotta protect them from oxidation because silk gets crunchy), and I am super careful not to use them on filthy product laden hair or when I have makeup anywhere near my jaws or neck if I’m going to wear them around my neck. The oldest one (key pattern in pink) was purchased in 1991 on the Rue Faubourg location, the next oldest (blue discontinued knight print) was bought a few years later on Union Square in San Francisco and the newest one (for me) (Brown discontinued mushrooms) came from a Japanese eBay seller. They’re now pretty old but I take good care of them, never even dry cleaned, and they’re made of such sturdy silk twill they can really take a beating. My Y2K era Moschino scarf was considerably less resilient-I finally had it cleaned & framed because I like the zodiac print and gave it to a friend who is really into astrology. I also have a pile of knockoff nylon twillies I get off eBay for basically nothing. They’re for regular old bad hair days and such. But my good Hermès scarves are still going strong 30 years in, and I’m still rocking them, and I’d still like a couple more-at least one black and one yellow to round out the seasonal needs. Hope this helps. I’m not even that bourgeoisie-or, just a regular working girl who was always told scarves were good investment pieces. Same with a few Tiffany silver pieces (not the juvenile hearts-the Roman numeral hoops and a few other things that kinda signal “she makes money” because that’s sales psychology personal presentation in a nutshell. Considering what they cost back in the day, I have definitely gotten my money’s worth, plus I actually like the scarves, both the quality of the twill and the patterns.

Silk scarf lover here :) while wool scarves are great for winter, I love styling my spring and autumn jackets and lighter coats with a Hermes silk scarf. It gives the outfit personality and color, while still protecting my neck and throat from a mild autumn breeze without making me sweat buckets like with a wool/cashmere scarf. I have various styles and colurs for different outfits and occasions and depending on the climate, they could be a very useful and stylish accessory. 🤷🏻♀️

Please do a review of the outfits of Villanelle in Killing Eve and how they compliment the disguises she's wearing in the episodes 😭 the show is great and some of the designers featured are Chloè, Etro, Alexander McQueen, Loewe, Ann Demeulemeester, Christian Lacroix, Gucci, Burberry, Molly Goddard, Charlotte Knowles, Dries Van Noten, Halpern, Y/Project, Petar Petrov, Maison Rabih Kayrouz, La Double J, Vampire's Wife, Rosie Assoulin to name a few. Would love to hear your opinion 😊

The way he looked into the camera every time she’d skip the designer and go straight to the fashion nova items

Miss Walmart Ariana doesn't realize designer stuff doesn't necessarily mean good fashion.

Thank you for mentioning Scottish heritage and tartan! People want to talk about cultural appropriation then call tartan, plaid.

I really think that Gabi grew a lot on a personal level over the last few years. A more recent closet tour would've been more accurate. Because of this, she sold and gave away a lot of her stuff and really decluttered everything, from clothes to accessories. I really did not like her style back then, but now I'm actually kind of intrigued.

She probably has the certificates just in case she wants to resell the clothes, just to justify the pricing (obviously they are a lot pricier because of their use on the show) and to grant validity to other collectors or in case that the clothes are displayed somewhere. Yes I am a lawyer 🤭

Hi, as always I love your videos and learn a lot. I have 2 nice silk scarves, which one was handmade by a small portuguese brand and the other one is vintage, fyi. And I wear it on my head, as a top, as a belt etc.. When we can't buy clothes all the time, we get creative with everything. Kisses, continue ly from Portugual 😍
