I think the Ariana/Audrey Hepburn reference is from the film Funny Face. There's a famous scene with Audrey exactly where Ariana is now wearing a similar, but black, dress. The film also opens with, "Think Pink" which also ties into Glinda.

Ok on the explanation/short rant Luke had to give at the beginning of this video- how crazy that some weirdos came into the comments section of the first Olympics video just to say that talking about the fashion… of the opening ceremony looks… at the PARIS Olympics… is pointless?? Like what? But it reminded me, I was rambling about the opening ceremony athlete looks to my straight, cis bf, who doesn’t really have a hyperfixation on fashion like I do. And I apologized at one point for ranting about it for so long, getting self conscious about it and saying something along the lines of “I know it’s the Olympics and it (the fashion) doesn’t really matter-“ and he cut me off and said, “No! It’s art! And the opening ceremony is the opportunity for each country to really show out, and display their pride for their country and their culture/values in a very symbolic and beautiful way. That’s important.” He’s a big sports guy, but also a big fan of the arts, so it’s a great example of how appreciation of both can coexist in a person. It was really validating. Take notes, weirdos who left those disparaging comments lol! And other fashion girlies, don’t let those negative comments get you down! How people dress themselves *can* be really important, even at places most people wouldn’t expect, like sporting events.

@Terri_MacKay3 ай бұрын
Celine was lip syncing to pitch corrected prerecorded vocals. Stiff Person Syndrome is progressive. It would be impossible for her to sing the entire song like that. But, the fact that she was able to record the song, even if it was just one small part at a time, and appear at the opening ceremonies was impressive, especially because the rain was torrential that night, and that weather can aggravate her symptoms.
@flerrrrrrrrrrrp29973 ай бұрын
@@Terri_MacKay there had been no in-dept research done on this disease until she got it so while we know it's likely incurable, she's kind of proving it's very manageable. Diabetes was a death sentence until insulin was discovered less than 100 years ago. Diabetes is still incurable, but people live long, normal lives thanks to insulin. she wasn't lip syncing.
@Terri_MacKay3 ай бұрын
@@flerrrrrrrrrrrp2997I know what I know about the disease from a doctor friend. It is certainly manageable, but it never improves, and if she was unable to sing 2 years ago, it would be impossible for her to sing like this now. The disease just doesn't work like that. The disease is progressive, which means that there is never any improvement. Someone may stabilise for a while, but will eventually start to deteriorate again. There is no treatment for the disease in particular, all doctors can do is manage the symptoms as well as they can. But, since those symptoms include muscle spasms, especially in the trunk of the body where the diaphragm is located, singing like this would be impossible. As I said, it's admirable that she was even able to record it in small phrases. This isn't a comparable disease to diabetes, since it doesn't affect the body in the same way. I know that Celine fans desperately want her to have sung live at the opening ceremonies, but her performance has been proven objectively to be lip synced. Singing like this just isn't possible for her anymore. Watch "Was Celine Dion singing live at the Olympics? Let's check it out" plus the video immediately following it on the Wings of Pegasus channel. Absolutely no question that the performance wasn't live. And I'm not criticising Celine when I say that. The fact that she was there at all is inspiring.

what do people expect from your channel if not commentary on clothing? 😂 so confused!!! Dior really showed up for Celine's dress, she looked ethereal and majestic! (the location probably helped too! stunning visuals all around) I enjoyed the ceremony so much tbh, it was just so French, reminding us all that France is a messy b*tch of a country- people complain about the french protests now, but for france they're actually very sedate when they're just setting things on fire rather than storming fortresses, beheading everyone *and* setting things on fire
