Haval H6 Ultra AWD - 2021

Here is a walkaround tour of the Haval H6 Ultra AWD in Australia that I recently purchased.
My model is the 2021 H6 Ultra AWD in Hamilton White

The car looks incredible, and looks full of features that you would love to have. My one and only concern about pulling the trigger on one of these is the ongoing reliability. I know that Chinese cars are starting to improve, just like brands such as Kia has in the past, but still definitely skeptical about the reliability and performance, regardless of its 7 year uncapped warranty. Definitely going to keeping up with your videos and see if you have any issues with it. Thanks for making these!

This is the very good car with all the features that the premium brand asks you to play for the extra option fee. Under $40K with fully options is the quite affordable price which already put the pressure to other brands in the market to reduce the price or add more features as standard

Except you're not getting the premium brand driving experience, handling, comfort, refinement, quality, reliability, etc. There's more to cars than superficial features.

Have you driven one? Agreed this doesn’t sit up in the luxury brand level of Lexus/merc but it’s certainly as good as the Mitsubishi/Kia/Mazda level which are charging 20k more. That is their value proposition backed by a 7 year warranty. Why 20k cheaper? Because their is absolutely zero value associated with the badge - think Kia ten years ago and Mazda 20 years ago.

Around the stated 8-9L/100kms. I honestly don't care about fuel economy though. It's not worth buying a large, heavy car and worrying about fuel - buy a smaller car for the same price if fuel concerns you.

The cover provides plenty of protection but the air con is great anyway

The system works great overall but there is a feature called Cruise Cornering Assist which is a headache but a fix has already been released, my car is getting the update next week to fix it.

Hi mate just wondering are you getting a lot of body roll? Seems like a lot of reviews say that. When I test drove the 2wd version it felt like it wasn't very centred to the ground but then again it's my 1st time driving suv. Also have you tested the awd capabilities?

Nah to be honest I’m not. I’m actually finding the driving feel to be quite good, but I’m only 600kms in. I’ve driven many SUV’s and can say this is one of the better handlers.

I have now driven the 2WD and I own the AWD - The AWD has great handling and acceleration - most reviewers complain about the soft suspension - its personally my preference, i dont want a hard sports car, i want something comfortable which this is.

Yes I managed to get it for less than the 2wd. But they really aren’t discounting them anymore because they’ve been so popular. They actually just put the prices up $1000 across the whole Haval range

To be honest I don’t even look at fuel consumption. Only just filled up for the first time and the odometer was at just shy of 600kms and I was thrashing it. But to be honest - I don’t buy cars based on fuel consumption because I honestly don’t care if it costs me 2 cents extra per 100km than a Hyundai that’s $15,000 more to buy.

Hi mate how's it drive? I test drove the 2wd and there was some front wheel spin when you accelerate suddenly. Does it do that with the 4wd?

Yeah I had the same thing on the 2wd. The 4wd is perfect. No wheel spin at all.

Hi Matt, I noted in another one of your videos you have since sold this car. You have spoken highly of it, and it looks great. I have literally just purchased one myself, picking up in a few days. I found your videos as looking for an example of the auto park. Could you give some feedback why you sold the car so soon? Was it due to quality issues?

I began a new job with a company car. It was not worth keeping the Haval. Loved the car and no issues, but it’s only going to lose value and I wouldn’t have been using it.

Hi Matt. From the Haval H6 official brochure and your videos I've watched to date it seems there is no Android Auto or Sat Nav. How do they suggest these connected and viewed for safe use whilst driving? How is the Bluetooth connection and microphone volume for receiver at the other end of the call? Also do you get 1 or 2 smart key fobs with this car.

There is Android Auto, I don’t have an android to test it, but it absolutely has it. No inbuilt navigation but the nav from Android or iPhone will be displayed on the heads up display. Bluetooth for me has been fine and no reported issues. 2 smart keys for the H6 Ultra.

@@tdcamz1 I have the same car 2022 ultra, and yes the Android car play is amazing on this car. Not laggy/buggy, its very smooth. I highly recommend purchasing a very fast USB C cable for Android play at your popular retailer stores Don't buy the cheap ones. 👍👍👍

What’s the stereo sound like? My Cannon Ute stereo isn’t the best for sound and am looking to replace my wife’s car with a H6 but she wants a good stereo.

It’s better when you enable the DTS surround which is only available in the ultra and lux. But it’s still not as good as the Bose system I had in my last car.

The Ultra comes with tinted rear drivers side and passenger windows and rear tailgate windows so assume you had the front drivers side and front passenger side windows tinted after market. Is this allowed under state road regulations and insurance as I'd like to do the same if I purchase the Haval H6.

Rear glass is privacy glass, it isn’t film tinted. So I had all the windows tinted, rear is done in a clear UV film and the front two are darkest legal tint. Perfectly legal in NSW.

Yes I have the floor mats. I believe there is a towbar but not many dealers offering it and they’re pushing the after market.

It’s not wireless but I believe you can get a wireless adapter.

There is no built in GPS, it uses the GPS directions from Carplay or Android Auto

H6 does not have leather seats in any Variant, it is vinyl.

They’re leather look. Eco-leather, which is what most cars offer these days.

I’ve had them in my last two cars, never really needed them. They aren’t air con they’re ventilated, so if you sit in a hot car on hot seats and turn them on, you’ll feel hot air. They take I while to cool down as the cabin does.

This car 4WD not AWD 😁👍 When you change drive mode to ECO it will be front 2WD , if normal mede above 80 KM 2WD ,
