Have a Go - Caitlyn Nevins and Dan Atkins (Triathlon)

HAVE A GO / We created PlayBook to support athletes to build confidence in sport. Sometimes they’ve never even played before. They may just have a passion for the sport and want some personalised sessions, one-on-one, to learn the essentials and then head to a team environment at school or a club.
Learning something new can be daunting. Working with someone new can be unnerving. And, what could be more daunting than working with a world class coach? Especially as a beginner! Sure, Caitlyn was an elite athlete but when we shot this Caitlyn was very new to triathlon. And, she was just coming back from surgery. And, she was set to work with an Olympic level coach. But, Dan is a pretty special coach. Dan started out as a learn to swim and Dan says that if you can teach a baby to swim then you can teach anyone, any thing. It’s this level of approachability that makes working with Dan accessible to everyone. Dan’s passionate about triathlon and wants to get more people to have a go, whatever level that is.
So, here’s to having a go. At tri, at cricket, at social netball. At running, at kayaking, at volleyball. There’s never been a better time to give something new a shot. Every day athletes take a chance and reach out to PlayBook coaches to learn something new. We think that's an exciting step forward for sport.
