A clarification: In this lesson, some sentences are present perfect *simple* (ex: "They have been married..."); others are present perfect *continuous* (ex: "I have been working..."). Both the present perfect simple and present perfect continuous are aspects of the *present perfect* tense. The same is true of the past perfect tense.

I've using the term of nominal and verbal sentence for teaching tenses to my students.. If you have any correction for me, please, I'm happy to hear that..

Hello Learn English Lab, I am a fluent English speaker and have been my entire life, You are a very great teacher for those who have trouble with their English. But I have a question, do you speak any languages other than English? I've always been trying to learn Hindi/Urdu and Nepali. There aren't too many good resources for learning those languages. So, I was wondering if you speak any of those languages. Thanks for helping so many people

Hey sir! Loved your video. I have a question- Sometimes I'm unable to focus on the books I read, my mind starts wandering when I'm reading and I can't remember what I have read just 10 minutes ago. How should I deal with this problem to build a good focus?
@LearnEnglishLab7 жыл бұрын
I have that problem too. So what I do I use the timer on my phone. I tell myself that I will read for 10 minutes without interruption, then I start the timer and put my phone in front of me. Until the timer hits 10:00, I read and don't allow myself to get distracted. After 10:00 I take a small break and repeat the process. I've been doing this for a few years, and I can actually go up to 30-40 minutes now. I don't use WhatsApp or Facebook so being interrupted by notifications is not a problem for me - you might want to turn these off if you use them :)

@LearnEnglishLab7 жыл бұрын
Good job! (4) "A young man has been arrested in connection with the robbery." - this is the passive voice (2nd use). The young man has recently been arrested. The sentence only has one action, so there's no need to use 'had been'. Compare this with: "The prisoner who escaped had been arrested for a robbery." - two actions - 'had been arrested' (first), 'escaped' (second) :)

May be sir's voice is so perfect as your saying it can't be easy to get for beginners but let me tell you this is the reason why most of us not able to become good English speakers though we know complete grammar. Simply learning Grammar will not let us to become good speaker rather one should try to understand the importance of proper pronunciation in English and sir is doing the right thing. This is what I observed from Ganesh sir's lectures

i had worked as a teacher for 7 years this sentence is correct or not
@LearnEnglishLab7 жыл бұрын
It's correct if it ended. Ex: "When I became a full-time musician, I had worked as a teacher for 7 years before that." :)

Learn English Lab so when we use past perfect it compulsory to use simple past as well , is it?
@LearnEnglishLab7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is. But the simple past action/event does not need to be included in the same sentence if it is mentioned before.
