I have had the Hearthside Mark 2 floor stand for over 20 years (from the original owner) and it is the best stand I have ever used. When Evertote started manufacturing this product I purchased the lap stand which has the same turning mechanism for easy access to the back of your work. Love them both and use the floor stand every day and the lap stand goes with me on retreats/stitch days or for smaller projects.

I’m so envious of your studio it looks great with everything so quickly available. Like most stitchers i’ve also tried every conceivable frame and recently bought a large floor frame from Amazon which I am unhappy with because it’s so fragile and the wood is poor. Yours looks so beautiful and well designed, Im going to show my husband in the hope that he can figure out a way for me to buy one without having to fill in numerous customs forms! I really want a good quality frame but embroidery doesn’t seem to be as popular in Europe anymore. Canada seems to be very well provided with stitching supplies. Best wishes and Happy New Year from Madeira Island 😊

Fantastic review video. I have been a stitcher for years, when I had the money to invest in a floor stand, I did buy the Hearthside “Mark 2” floor stand. SO glad it was my first choice when buying. It is everything you have shown it to be. Craftsmanship is first class. I bought mine from the original designer/owners and it was one of the last stands they sold when they retired and sold the business to ever tote. Thank you for such an informative video demonstrating the pros and cons of all the different needlework systems.

This KZbin popped up in my feed today. Thank you, it was fantastic. I have been considering a larger cross stitch project, and believe a scroll frame would be the best answer. The stand seems to be perfect for enabling using the scroll frame. Your explanation, and run through of all the choices you have tried was very well done. I’m returning to cross stitch after 40+ years, and have tried stitching in hand, which I found very frustrating. So then I went to a very simple hoop and it seemed better but not the best. I have tried different hoops, and am liking the nurge hoops; but now I want to do a larger project and have been looking at scroll frames. I will go back to see if you said exactly what type it was, but the floor stand was a beautiful revelation! So I will do more looking, and thinking. I’d be interested in any more comments you might have about the frames,stand, and attachments. Thanks so much for sharing. I’m going to go back and look at some of your other videos. Peg 💛. From SD.

This was a very interesting video for me. First, I recognize the metal hoop you showed; I have a few and still use them because I find the modern spring hoops can be difficult to use on some days (rainy days). I have a couple of the wooden screw type but my feline assistant can sometimes get too involved and thwart that process whereas with the old metal spring hoop, it's quicker than she is. I loved the demo of the Hearthside floor stand. It may be exactly what I need. I am all too familiar with having to put everything aside to take care of an immediate need whether it's a feline demand or the ringing bell of something done in the oven. I especially like that tray to hold scissors, threads, and assorted other items so they are handy and out of feline reach (she is always far too interested in those wiggling threads). I, too, have a small house and small living room so I'll have to measure to be sure the floor stand would fit; I'm hoping.
@mountaincraftsstudio10 ай бұрын
I feel your pain about the feline assistant, I have four! They do have a lap stand that takes up less room, but it doesn’t have the handy tray. I’ve gotten so spoiled with it I really miss it when I don’t have it.

I’ll have to check out this stand, thank you. I’ve been through all kinds of stands from Edmund’s(my late husband tried to modify this one), Lowry, Baby Z, American Dream. My biggest issue has been my sitting position. The stands were all too short and I would end up hunched over on the edge of a chair. I would also spend most of the time constantly tightening the knobs which drove me crazy. So they’re all in a storage tote.

Do you find that the middle of your bars tend to sink in when trying to get them drum tight? I bought two lowery stands to hold my scroll frame on each end. I'm working on some big projects that use the 100cm (a little less than 40 inches) rods from Omanik that are going to take a decade to finish. I tried a spacer bar for it, but the rod it came with is being stripped by the nut when i tighten it. I did not appreciate metal shaving on my canvas or thread, but i haven't found a work around to get the middle as drum tight as the sides, and i worry a little about the bars bending inward if not forced straight.
@mountaincraftsstudio10 ай бұрын
I’ve not had that problem. But I also don’t necessarily try to get mine drum tight. I have seen some projects that were distorted by the stitcher over tightening and have never forgotten it, so I probably tend to keep mine too loose.

@@mountaincraftsstudio Can you use a roloframe with this stand
@mountaincraftsstudio10 ай бұрын
@@normamaddux8109 I’m sure you could get the optional clamps to use that system, although you should verify that with Hearrthside Craftworks before ordering.

Wow now that’s a frame. You should be a spokesperson for them.

I really love this frame, it is a game changer!

I had a metal hoop like that years ago.

Thx for this. I’ve been looking. But does it take Qsnaps?
@mountaincraftsstudio10 ай бұрын
Yes it does. There is a clamp option that you can purchase to hold the Q-snaps.

This video came up in my feed again. Must be trying to tell me something. 😂 Some more questions. Would it fit under a recliner? Does it fold for storage or do you have to take it apart to store? And I’m sorry about your rheumatoid arthritis. My neighbor has it and it has interrupted her life so very much.

Well I just found them on Caroline’s website. It won’t fit under a motion recliner. So this is out for me. But a fantastic review. Thx.

@@janniestanleyAre you sure? There is an extra long bar you can custom order to make it wider.

You have a magic moving frame on the video. Do you have a child moving it?
@mountaincraftsstudio10 ай бұрын
😆 I was wondering when someone would mention that. It was the cat playing at my feet.
