I'm not spoiling for any political arguments, and Boris Johnson isn't my PM anyway, but I genuinely don't understand what he's done (I mean as your PM, not as a TV personality! LOL) for so many people to leave anti-Boris comments? I mean can you give me say... 3 examples of specific things done as a PM which makes you think he's so terrible? I really *want* to understand. Thanks very much in anticipation. (PS - I'm not disagreeing or even saying you're wrong. I wouldn't be that rude. As I say, I'm probably just ignorant about some of the things he's done. Thanks again).
@phillheth3 жыл бұрын
@@ljdmanxfella57931. prorogation of parliament 2. Misappropriation of party donations to decorate his home. 3. Attempt to change the rules against second jobs for MPA and corrup lobbying. Those were the first that came to mind but there are plenty more. He has zero regard for our democracy or the citizens of the UK. He's the worst example so far of the detached Etonian whos only objective is to look after his mates and the city.
@@phillheth Hi Phill. Thanks for your reply above which I genuinely found interesting *as well as* educational, because it made me look into the 3 issues, and learn about them as a result. And I *do* sort of understand why those three issues would anger people. That said, and trying to be objective about everything, the first one about the prorogation of parliament... Surely you can appreciate that if I was a UK resident and a supporter of the UK leaving the EU (often *wrongly* abbreviated to *_"Brexit"),_* I'd be a very keen supporter of him prorograting parliament as and when he did? As far as I'm aware, nothing about it was illegal. It was simply a new record for being the longest prorogation to date. But as I say, I *do* understand why it might have really p*ssed off the pro-EU voters. As far as him using party funds to decorate his home, it *must* have been authorised by the parties co-chairmen, who I believe are two men/MP's called Oliver Dowden and Ben Elliot? Plus quite frankly Phill, if people are wank enough to donate their own money to the Conservative party, who cares what it's used for? It could all go up in smoke as far as I'd care. Plus if I was in the UK, I'd much rather that than it being funded by UK tax payers money. I assume this was (one of) his private homes rather than Downing Street or Checkers? But in reality, yes, if it *was* one of his private homes, morally that stinks! Briefly, about him attempting to change the rules, and specifically about making corrupt lobbying ok somehow, I totally agree with you. Morally that stinks too. But surely corrupt lobbying is a criminal offence in the UK anyway? The clue's in the name, *_"corrupt"._* So I'd assume anyone even suspected of such corruption would be dragged into Scotland Yard or wherever for questioning, and charged or released depending on the strength of evidence. In other words, just like anyone else thought to be guilty of any kind of corruption? I mean he might be the PM of the UK, but even Boris Johnson doesn't have the powers to make established criminal offences suddenly legal! I mean what next, rape, murder, GBH? LOL. And as far as second jobs go, quite honestly I don't care if someone has one job or half a dozen, regardless of if any of them are involved in politics. Just as long as they do them properly and to a high standard. Our GP for example, is also our Minister of HSC (Health & Social Care), and he's stonking (brilliant) at both, even though by law, he's still contracted to do his minimum of 40 hours a week as a GP within our NHS. In fact it works great having a real, working doctor, whose also in charge of health and social care *and* whose responsible for our NHS and Social Care departmental budget allocations each year. The perfect man for *both* jobs, because he knows exactly what's going on, and what's needed out here in *the real* world. Plus if you have any urgent problems, or you're annoyed about some plan you read about in the local newspaper, his home phone number (as with ALL our politicians) is in the back of the phone book! You really couldn't ask for a better government, mainly because they're all independents. We don't like _'party'_ politics here because it involves towing the party line. It's a stupid idea in my opinion. Anyway Phill, this was supposed to be a comment, but it's turned into a whole chapter! Sorry about that, and sorry if I've bored you, but thanks again and best wishes to you. Stay healthy and find contentment buddy.
