I'm way up in cold northern Ontario. I've already used the wiper de-icer a couple times this winter on my new Rav4 XSE hybrid.

I've had my Rav4 for 2 years now and just figured this out now. Thank you! wish I realized this before my crazy snow/ice filled drive back from the mountains today as I had 1/4 inch of ice stuck to my windshield where these heaters are.

That indicator on the top of the windshield to the right of the lane, departure triangle and auto highbeam triangle is actually for the rain sensing wipers. And that is part of the weather red package that gives you in addition to rain sensing wipers, I believe a heated steering wheel wiper deicer, and heated front seats

RAV 4 2022 ..... Windshield wipers freeze up. Wipers rest below window and therefore below the defroster....no cut out. Used as a work vehicle that picks people up. Not good for this to happen to windshield wipers in the Winter. Recently heard that old RAV4s were having the same issue and this is a 2022 and I guess this hasn't been resolved I hope I am missing something I need definitely talk to Toyota in my area...
