Have SEGA Figures Fallen Off?

SEGA is a huge name for prize figures. But with the recent closure of its famous arcades and strong competition from other companies, have they lost their step? This time we look into the two major lines of SEGA prize figures and see how they might fare against Taito, FuRyu, and Bandai.

What i like about sega is how detailed and tall their figures are and for a reasonable price. But i would say that taito is better

Definitely true, but TAITO has upped their game recently & now they are a league on their own & what i like about their releases are focused on more not so mainstream anime but those ones that are overlooked & often available in scaled release like Darling in the Franxx, Your Lie in April, Steins Gate, Made in Abyss, Black Rock Shooter, Elaina - Wandering Witch and etc....praying my fingers crossed esp. with my friend they will released a COREFUL or AMP of an affordable counterpart of the pricey scaled Rory from GATE.

Thanks for the video. Regardless of some makers, it seems like quality can very from figure to figure as well.

1:30 That’s a nice figure of Mash, I don’t buy Prize figures but that’s nice. Mash is my favourite servant.

Sega's prizes fell in terms of quality quite much over past 2-3 years (meanwhile Taito and FuRyu only improving their prize figs). Even most of their 2002-2010 figures are better, imo. Some figures (like Marin in bikini) looking like cheap shitty bootlegs, clearly not worth the price even of a prize figure

I have some older PM figures which look awesome, but has defects like smearing gold paint and deformed plastic pieces. And looking on their new figures, they are not promising at all. Even if the promo pics look decent, the finished figure looks really off a lot of times :( I just to say, Taito is much more promising nowdays, with their new line the master piece, desktop cute and coreful. These are the lines you can preorder and a get a very decent figure for your money. Their quality is consistent, looks very close to the promo pic and worth the money or even more. I'm impressed not only with their Shizuku but also the desktop cute and coreful Nanachi as well. I got both even tho I'm avoiding getting prize figures nowdays xD Could not resist.

Recent Sega Luminasta figures like the Hell's Paradise ones are so bang for your buck. The Yuzuriha figure is about $9-10 for with a detailed base, very decent detailing and stands about 24 cm.

Back in my day in the ancient times of the late 2000s, I was able to pick up sega prize figures for around $15-$18 at conventions.

Honestly i think sega isnt that bad though their bases are pretty boring honestly I really like their ribbon girl miku and sakura miku

Yea that is a nice Asuka, although I’m not the biggest fan of figures that need to be viewed from above.

just got a Sega Luminasta Mai figure (Knapsack Kid). Haven't bought anything Sega before. The figure is overall fine, doesn't looks weird at all sitting beside Taito's. but in term of QC, the peg is really thin in diameter, and did not align with the holes. Frankly I fear they will break overtime from stress. frankly not attracted to most of their offering, either a bit bland, or face sculpt isn't as good.

Luminatsa figures are really not really great in quality when you take a closer look. They I guess are nice from far away. Recent Hatsune Miku ones by them are pretty bad for example to a Luka one with a scary face in a pink outfit.
