Why is there even a cooldown on the bite at all? It deals zero damage to players, any cooldown bigger than 0.5s is too much I can see why they nerfed ripping kick with a cd, people weren’t even using it for combat and were rather using it to catch up/escape during a chase, but 8 seconds still seems like a bit much for an ability that is otherwise useless

The change to ripping kick was unneeded. Yea it was good for traveling and little quicker but it’s not that much of an advantage. Due to the stam use, they should’ve left Ripping kick as it’s not a good attack or a an unfair travel option

Raptors have been shit since I started, and have remained at rock bottom. Get pounce?! Slick hide. Or reflect on carnivores that raptors could hunt, but can't... Lose bleed unless you go ripping kick. Deinonychus still not having a sense is utterly bizarre. And the exact same speed as a Rex. 800. Ridiculous.

I don’t understand why so many games feel comfortable nerfing or changing characters unnecessarily. I don’t want to buy a dino pack for a specific dino just for it to be useless a month later. Nerfing Achillo’s kick because people also choose to use it to move a little faster? Ripping kick is trash as an attack and isn’t the best for a boost as Achillo isn’t the fastest plus the Stam usage, so why remove niche gameplay? It’s like they want less variety in player choice and builds and wants everyone to just play exactly how they envision. Certain nerfs like the Kentro are understandable, but the devs need to learn about the phrase “ If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”🤦🏾‍♂️

Same with Arrowhead with helldivers 2 the Devs claim the nerfs help diversify the game but also want us to play the game they envision even though that goes against what made their game successful and playable. Nerfs should exist but I believe let’s rework and buff others things add more competitive things first if it’s still dominating or breaking the game then nerf it.

Istg people don't even pay attention to the video, they said that the ripping kick nerf is *TEMPORARY* + the speed they mentioned isn't referring to lunge forward from the ripping kick animation, it's referring to the buff from one of it's hide abilities

What made Achillo interesting was being able to reliably swap from groundplay to pouncing on the fly, and now making the giant raptor that’s super easy to hit when latching on overly reliant on pouncing is going to make it feel reallllly awkward 😬

I don't HATE the Achillo Rework (basically a Rework rather than Stat change), but it certainly doesn't seem agreeable. It feels like the Devs are trying to Balance Achillo up to Utah raptor, actually. Letting Achillo be more pounce oriented could let it target larger Dinosaurs, as that Shred Damage buff was HUGE. On Officials, Achillo is gunna feel more like a Raptor from modern Media now, pouncing and jumping on Prey to tear it to bits. Am I happy with it? No. I'll play Utahraptor when PT Finishes the Overhaul. But, I don't think it's the worst. There's some buffs here and there, so it's still viable. If there's anything I want out of Achillo, make it so you're not at a disadvantage by grouping up with others of your own species, rather than adopting Raptors. A Mob isn't just a Boss and their Goons, sometimes it's entire crime families that work together.

Pouncing is weird. You can get damaged while pounced so it's really risky. I think the best way to use this is to jump on, shred, jump off, cruel swipe. MASSIVE DAMAGE. Achilo is probably the best low tier carni with this, even more than b4

I said this before I’ll say it again, before people get their undies in a bunch and act like nerfs are the worst thing in the world, can we all just remember that this is an unfinished beta that is missing massive parts of its gameplay? I feel like its not that complex of a concept. Buffs and nerfs mean basically nothing until they playable they are applied to are confirmed as “complete” which won’t happen until pre release at the very earliest.

As a raptor main when they decided to remove bleed i knew the devs threw everything they were doing in the trash. It wasn't that substantial at first but it is starting to show that they dont play their own game and make random chages because they feel like it

I don't get all the hate. Rhamph was mostly buffed. It's not the end of the world when you can't troll anymore. Laten and Deinon are really the only ones that I'm really upset about. I see what they meant for Achillo. It wasn't just the kick spam, but also a god speed exploit that I'm sure at least one other person had found. The claw nerfs were needed honestly, it was way to powerful. And again, there's buffs. Shred seems like it'll be way more relevant now, and I always thought the dps on Bite was too low. (And for the record, the kick and tail fan cooldown nerfs are TEMPORARY) Hatz is also mostly buffs. Only Peck Barrage's damage was nerfed, and it looks like it can still do a lot of damage. Besides, stacking attacks aren't always the best to use anyway. Since they're nerfing its flight stamina (cross map griefing as they mentioned, rn it can cross the entire map at breakneck speeds without landing), the buffs to Peck and Clamp are nice. Hatzegopteryx is THE ground pterosaur.

rhamph cant even deal damage, what else is it supposed to do? if you latch onto people you're just going to be hit by others nearby unless you find some unluckly soul trying to play solo.. for achillo, its big, probably bigger than it should be, these changes only end up making it weaker overall and if there is a speed issue with the ability why cant they just fix that instead of working around it to nerf the entire ability , laziness. i do feel it was a bit overkill the way the video talked about hatze but honestly peck barage should deal high damage considering its 3 pecks at once, maybe lower the cooldown some and increase damage of regular peck yes but to lower the damage of barrage is stupid - how about make the other abilities just as good or equally worth using instead of nerfing that

also i mainly play community servers so thats where my mindset comes from, i understand the devs are most likely looking at it from an official POV, but the devs themselves promote modded dinos for community servers, they literally control when modded dinos are even allowed to be released, then make trailers of them,,, in this case they need to make all of the vanilla dinos capable of handling modded dino stats , if thats the path they choose to go

Rhamph should’ve been a parasite that fed on the blood of other animals. Give it the ability to pounce onto, bite, and create a gaping wound that bleeds the longer rham is attached. The creature will have to wallow into water or something to heal it off.

I dont understand why the devs try and balance creatures so heavily around a single playstyle. Why make an ability system if you are going to make only a single build meta and nerf every other combo into a throw pick?

The only change I see mildly frustrating are the chimkens, and not because of the tail fan nerf, but because they aren't getting what they need. It takes a horde to do any real damage. Durable as soggy cardboard, which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't get stuck on/under things they attack and die when it turns to hit them.

Raptors were agile as hell. A mechanic for them to "bounce" away after an attack to avoid retaliatory damage would be handy.

At this point im convinced Alderon just hates raptors in general, i love raptors but none of the small ones are useful in anyway now that pounce is nerfed to the ground and now Achillo is also getting the hammer over a creative way if using a useless attack. I don't play PoT offen anymore. And this just sums up why. Laten and Dein nerfed their tail fan. I use that constantly to get out of being killed as juvi and adol. And the rhap not being able to regen while pounced hate that. Pounced on my brothers dino while healing perfect. I try not to hate on the Devs but. What are they thinking 😭

I thought they made the abilities so you could have build variety. Why buff the pounce playstyle so high that it makes the other, more brawler rapter build obsolete? A 100% increases to an abilities damage is fucking absurd. Not only did they do that they nerfed basically every other ability, so now, you either play a way worse version of the original achilo, or a super buffed up pounce achilo. Theyre literally making the choice for you, its kinda goofy.

It’s a balance of buffs and nerfs. Achillo was nasty if a good player was using it solo. And hatz really needs those buffs and fixes. It’s so quick to die when it touches the ground

They want Achillobator to pounce bigger dinos but can be hit by the dino they’ve pounced most of the time and can only pounce apexes and much bigger dinos. So by that logic you pounce get a couple of hits in and get hit a couple of times jump off then run away for 5 minutes to heal and they do the same. Can’t be in a group because of the group combat timer the pounce is a great idea but doesn’t work on achillo because of the limitation of what you can actually pounce on

Achillo: they want to focus around group play okay but not everyone wants to do that, it should be viable both ways. Dein/Laten: are they trying to make them into actual chickens? The nerf to the boost is confusing for me…these raptors have what 1000/1100 cw, not sure what the point of that was. Gonna be seeing a lot more eZ laten/dein in the chat after the update. Hatz: the flight stamina nerf to me is bonkers. Is this a flying bird or a little sugar glider I mean 🫠🫠.

Blame the people who abused it into becoming the dino of choice for revenge killing after dying from across the map. If people weren't so inclined to use it to revenge kill, Alderon wouldn't have probably nerfed it to limit its playstyle.

I just really don’t appreciate how they handled Achillobator pretty much at all. Achillo should’ve been a solo/duo type, focused on stalking and fighting. The little raptors should’ve had all the group buff abilities, Achillo should’ve had buffs when alone or in a group with fewer than 2 other players. It should’ve had a powerful bite, a powerful raking swipe, and a powerful kick. Its weakness should’ve been a weaker Stamina economy. And tbh? The Raptor pounce should be able to land on smaller animals and bear them to the ground.

Personally, I’m mostly happy with the change. As I don’t play small chickens or that toothy seagull, I don’t know if the change is really that good or bad. For the big Chicken. I think they should have buff the kick damage or bleed instead but I personally still think the cooldown nerf is still needed to stop people from exploiting it. Other than that I’m super happy with other change, especially the cruel swipe nerf. A group of Archillobator with cruel can easily obliterate any lone apex Dino and that’s not okay for me. And lastly, I love the changes to Hatz, there’s only one nerf to it which is the peck barrage damage which isn’t that substantial. The only complaint I still have with Hatz is that I wish they buff its mobility and optimise its hit box. I don’t like its acceleration speed, it takes like 2-3 second before it reach top speed which is too much for a land based predator. And it’s hilarious that I still take full damage if though the bite landed on the tip of my wing or the nail of my toe.

Achillobator needed to be nerfed, he was way to OP. I was playing as a triceratops or whatever ceratopsian they have in the game and a achillobator got into a 1v1 with me and I got absolutely clapped, when normally I could take on a fully grown T. rex or a pack of deinonychus, but no, achillobator was way too good. I don’t understand why they would nerf the hatz, he already got nerfed when you could just pick up anything with him, and the ramp is just annoying and doesn’t need to be nerfed. I agree with @Lt.BlackButter.

You didn't mention the absolutely MASSIVE nerf to hatz's flight stamina. It's literally only gonna be able to fly for a bit over a minute now, even when not sprint flying. You aren't going to be able to hunt from the sky anymore, as by the time you land to attack, you're already low or out of stamina.

@paleo_ferns ikr? Hatz irl was a soaring animal that could soar across an entire continent in 1 go (based on its wing anatomy), not asking for that kind of stamina since this is a video game, but it would be cool if the flyer could fly (a big ask I know)

Not just the dinos... I dont play on your server anymore personally cause of the admins not doing their job (actively watching RBs happen in front of them and not doing anything ever and not answering tickets) and the toxicity in general but I have friends who still occasionally join your server. They're saying people are fed up and will be posting on reddit with screenshots and videos of your team abusing their powers and being jerks to people. Sad to see that you stand for such behavior :/

They buffed peck dmg, buffed cooldown. You do more dmg per hit and hit more often. They buffed its grab stamina They buffed peck barrage. It does 60% dmg but cut its cooldown in half. So you do more dmg overall. It got buffed not nerfed
