What do you mean? 5 x 10 push ups a day? or 50 straight, non-stop? Inclined plan? By the way, bench press and back squat have been shown to be very dangerous exercises and there better and safer alternatives.

This video is a fantastic resource for bringing awareness to fitness and the impact it has on aging! As a physical therapist, I share this with my patients to highlight the importance of staying active and how it can significantly slow down the aging process. The shocking stats, like how 75-year-old athletes can have the same fitness level as teenagers who don't exercise, really drive home the message. Thank you for this valuable information and for inspiring us all to keep moving!

This is fascinating, so helpful as I’m older and just taken up exercising again after a break…I do 30 mins each day. Makes all the difference. The biggest issue I have psychologically is trying to motivate those around me who do not seem to care…not just younger people but folk the same age or older. It’s infuriating…😤

This why i lift and run. I'm fitter at 33 than I was at 17 and get fitter by the day. I run miles, I lift heavy 6 days a week and most people around me 30 plus can't even run around the block anymore without dying

Nice work! Keep it up! I hope that this video can be another voice that helps people do the same.

@Why I Exercise yep being swole is a cool after effect but the real prize is being healthy and being able to be mobile well into old age. I'm gonna be the 80 year old that's fit and not the 80 year old in a wheelchair

Wow, I need to get busy. I do some exercising but need to do more. We are enjoying our retirement, but I want to make sure I’m around for a long time to enjoy it. Thanks for this video and I look forward to your next one.

Great video! Question? What if I'm 5'8", have a shrinking waistline and growing muscle, making me 210lbs? Does the "BMI and Risk of Premature Death" chart still apply? Basically heavy muscle vs heavy fat.
@WhyIexercise Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback and your excellent question! The next several videos will cover fitness testing and measurements in much more detail. In a nutshell, consider looking at your BMI alongside other tests. Measure your waist, and then test your cardio fitness and muscle endurance (according to what’s proper for your ability level). This will give you a more complete and balanced perspective on how you’re doing. Hopefully, the upcoming videos will help you decide what aspects of the data are actionable in your case. Much more to come!

If you're 5'8 and weigh 210 you have a lot of fat to lose. That is unless you're some .1 percent genetic freak like Arnold

I just ride my bike 1.30 each day, probably need to do muscle work as well but I love using Zwift and occasionally winning a hill climb race at the age of 57. Thrash yourself, but not every day.😅😅

Hello, thanks for checking on that. You can get much more info on BMI from this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4qZnHR-m7WdrMk (It shows the women's chart at 4 min 24 sec)
