Imperative to get electrolytes back in . Easiest is pure sea salt from convenience stores.

I flew back from Bangkok to UK last Monday, got back in the evening straight to bed...was up multiple times (double figures), running to the toilet with diarrhoea, had the coughs as well, so with every coughing frenzy it was dispensing out of the rear end lol (Not funny at the time, horrendous night, but at least I had five good weeks in LOS, no health problems. Just the cough started last 3 days in Bangkok. Thanks Rocket for your Vlogs and happy retirement to you and the Boss.

Hi Tony one thing you need to be aware of is the foil thermo bags that you get your fresh raw meat from the supermarket that you were using to cover cooked meat when you did your roast the other day is a likely source of contamination. Pathogenic bacteria are not killed by freezing only heating food above 63°c as a minimum. You must be careful about keeping raw food separate from cooked so don’t use the same chopping board for raw meat that you used for cooked. Other sources of food poisoning bacteria are from shellfish, unwashed fruit and vegetables. So handle with care and always wash your hands after handling raw meat and fish. Health and safety message over. Now Get well soon fella. 👍

My wife always said to never go outside in the rain In Thailand or you will become sick. In 2007 I ignored her and I had the Tom Tits for a week. Everything your describing is what she said to me. She is watching you now shouting at the TV saying "do not go out in the rain"

Acid rains from China and India. It eats through paint. No lie.

Get some electrolytes to put in your water, that will help with the dehydration. Everyone gets Norovirus but the under 5's and over 60's can more easily succumb to its effects. best way to avoid it if it is going around is to prepare your own food and not to eat anything that someone could have touched that can't be cooked eg salad. And obviously hand washing and hygiene is extremely important. There is a cleaner that kills norovirus on surfaces and is used for deep cleaning surfaces, not sure how available it would be in Thailand. You are right hand sanitizers and bleach don't kill it.

Good advice , I had something like this about a month ago in uk ,my home , I felt exactly like you did but I felt so cold I was actually shaking and holding a bottle of water was like trying to get on a roller coaster while it’s going just had terrible trouble controlling the shaking . It lasted a day ,the shaking , but after that it simmered down

You had rigors. You have to be really careful. You were likely very low on sodium and fluids. Always keep some pedilyte on hand

You're looking a bit thinner mate 😀 Joking aside, on seeing this vid, it made me realise that NV was likely what i had 4 years ago in South Africa - all the symptoms were exactly as you state. 3 days it lasted - thought i was going to die at one stage.

Firt time in Thailand. Left Canada January 1. Five days in, I got sick my last night in Koh Tao. Was thinking food poisoning but maybe norovirus. Mostly diarrhea, some puking. Then I had to get on a catamaran to Koh Phangan. I never left my villa except to eat a grilled cheese sandwich 36 hours later. Being sick and waking up, checking out, catamaran, checking in etc. Toughest couple days ever.
