Sis. Poole prayed for me after a two year bout with serious throat trouble. I was only 16 at the time. I was a teenage minister in St. Charles, AR. She prayed for me and in five minutes my throat was completely cleared . I am now 65 and have never had that trouble again. She was "real" and preached the truth. I would love to hear her say one more time "Why suffer when others are being healed, why die before your time?" !

Lol hilarious I remember those days well back when I fist started playing the organ my mother Evangelist Carolyn Caldwell Gordon took me to church and in those days wasn't a sanctified church you couldn't go to that wasn't on fire. I heard them singing "Until He Comes" and "In the Morning When I Rise" in those days that song was sung at funerals for sanctified saints home going back when they called us holy rollers. Most people were baptist or other and on Sunday night they would sneak over to the holiness church to be entertained but in those days unlike to day if you were close to the fire in a holiness church service you got burned and your fire never ever went out. Not to put down church people of today because everybody wasn't born when I was or others to inherit that old school church, but sometimes people whom cook add new ingredients to an old recipe!

It was said Mother Poole, besides being worn out, had a liver condition. Late Sister Felton who used to be at the the new york temple told me her eyes had turned yellow, she had been sick and they got her on the plane back to Chicago. they did not believe in taking medicine, they relied on faith.

Steal away, steal away, Steal away to Jesus. Steal away, steal away home. I ain't got long to stay here. SECOND SONG: I am going to wait on the lord, I am going to wait on the Lord, I am going to wait on the Lord until he comes. (repeat). I'm going to seek God for myself. I am going seek God for myself, I am going to seek God for myself until he comes. (repeat)

This is Elder Williams. I will post that soon as I can get the tape converted to the computer. I believe it was sometime before her death. I have had that cassette more than 30 years, titled a Great Consolation. The scripture text was Psalm 91.Its a bible class that was recorded I think during the time of the Chicago riots. I was in grade school then and we had to leave school and go home back in 68.

Just a correction: The recording I have is one of her last bible classes from the year 1968. The scripture is Isaiah chapter 40.

I want to first thank God for you putting these rare recording of the late Evang. Mattie B. Poole. All these albums of mine that my mother left me when she transcended got stolen. I want to know do you have the recording Where Mother Poole preached her own homegoing message. It would be her talking from Psalms 91? I would love if you post that one for me.

Interesting. Her brother, the late Dist. Elder Henry Robinson once shared his belief in what killed his sister. It had to do with her being worn out as you mentioned in your comments. Oh but what an impact her life made that after so many years following her passing she is still remembered as a great warrior.
