Nice tunic and nice chevrons..!! 😁Back in my student days (early 1990s) my wife - to - be studied at Abertay university in Dundee, which isn't far from the town of Arbroath where 45 Commando were based, in a place called RM Condor. For that reason it wasn't unusual to see RMs wearing their #1 service uniforms if there was a town parade or something. Looked pretty smart parading down the street as an entire company or two. Mostly, however, you saw the RMs walking around in their camo workwear. They had a RM recruiting office in town and it was usually manned by butch marines with tattoos all over their arms and their heads full of air! (Sorry, old army joke..!)😛

Ha ha ! ..I can imagine that the 'pinchers' were covered in tattoos !! lol ..much like the press gangs of the previous centuries !! That's cool about four-five ! .. I spent a bit of time at 40 Cdo. at Norton Manor Camp near Taunton in Somerset back in the day. Wonderful cider !! I have not passed the commando course so I always smile at the memory of those days.. seeing all the lads in their combats and green lids and wishing for the same. Well It's an assault course to get out of bed and put my socks on these days !! lol.. and with a little fat dog trying to trip me over !! 😁😉 Blessings Al bro !!

Royal Marines have sharp uniforms too. I was a U.S. Marine Never had the opportunity to wear my dress blues on any official capacity.

I was only RMR ..which is a reserve unit.. and I was not awarded the green beret .as I decided to crash a motorcycle instead !! lol I had all the greens and blues but mostly wore a camo jacket !! lol Cheers to you !!

It’s nice you give the birds water. I’m sure it’s a joy watching them in your yard. Jimmy is a sweet dog but I think all dogs have a bit of guard dog in them. I still have my own tunic from the RMR ..but I will never show it on KZbin.. most of the RM tunics I have here belonged to old salts that I knew !! lol.. they gave away their kit when I had a militaria channel called 'Jim Timber Too' ..I deleted it because of the weirdos !! lol Thank heavens I now just have contact with good folk like you !! ..awesome !!

Massive respect to your Dad on this one Mark bro ..as I know he invented H.A.L.O ..and that must have taken some real guts !! ..I've dropped out of a few things in my day ..lol.. but my jumps were 9000 feet which was still crazy !! lol but I think your Dad would have dumped from 30000 which is freakin' awesome !! ..and then he would have reached terminal v at about 120 mph ..what a ride !! 😁 ..and then had to work out how to land.. was it two or three chutes ?? ..I forget ..but what an amazing thing to develop.. your Dad truly was a land speed record holder ..with wings !! Ha ! ..well some of them have been worn by my old mates.. but this one was given to me when I had my old channel 'Jim Timber Too' which was all military.. deleted it because of constant hate messages !! lol.. and so I do not remember the history of this tunic ..no names no pack drill !! lol I still have some bits of my own RMR kit.. but they are in the attic !! lol Blessings to you and Otis as always bro !!
