VegasDon 711 here. The Golden Steer Steakhouse opened in 1958 making it the second oldest restaurant in Vegas behind Bob Taylor's Ranch House 1955. I had dinner at the Ranch House in the early 2000s and the meal was great. Many celebrities and members of organized crime had meals at the Golden Steer. Celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin had private booths back in the day. Today their booths can be reserved.

Hey Don! Hope everything is well. I really liked this one. I worked right there off Highland just north of Sahara, I drove this area for many years about 20 years ago. When my wife and I lived off Lake Mead and Jones, I'd take Oakey up to Rancho and then just take Rancho all the way up to Lake Mead. A little story....I would open our office first thing in the morning on Saturday's, like really early (5am). Working right there on Highland, I would see some of the strippers that just got off work at Cheetah's walking to Sahara to catch the bus stop. Just crazy to think. Making all that money and still walking to a bus stop. lol

711 here. The sculpture that VegasDon pointed often is typically confused with turbines from Boulder (Hoover) Dam. It is a sculpture by artist Luis Varela-Rico. It is called Radial Symmetry. It was dedicated on 9-16-18. Each 16 ft or 4.8 m diameter piece weighs 10 US tons and the sculpture costed $246,000.
