An excellent end to 2024 Tim, with superb footage. 'Leander' shrouded in steam would have made a great opener - whilst the closing footage of the two Black Fives was timely! So good that you included the magnificent 'Lizzie' at Carlise, the perfect location for a Stanier masterpiece! Here's to 2025 - and even more of your excellent 'compositions'. Ah heaven on earth, steam locomotives. I’m a southern man but all these locos are beautiful. Wish the Flying Scotsman whistle was beefier! Thank you for the uploads.

Yes, the Scotsman's whistle is a bit of a let-down but - who's complaining? Think of how many people there are all over the world who would love to catch a glimpse of her whilst those of us up north get to see her in action frequently. Must dash off - I'm in the middle of cooking my Christmas dinner.

I like you have liked to support steam but excuses by operators some valid others less so have stopped steam engines pulling their loads.adiesel helps them. I have chosen not to.pay good money to a train pushed by a diesel engine.

There'll be one coming up sooner than you expect - I was back at Carlisle today (Christmas Eve) and - yes - there was a steam loco to be seen, even if it was behind a diesel!

That’s good to hear Tim and there’s snow forecast for Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and the rest of the uk so you might see more diesel trains going through Carlisle station especially when the electric trains don’t work in snow so the diesel engines are used I will be interested to see what steam train is in your next video

Quite right Tim, just not the same without the scent of steam(oil)! I must also say that for as much as shots with people blocking the view are derided, I rather like that shot with 6201 departing from the other platform. Shows time and again people turn up in droves to view such spectacles.

Sometimes people are part of the scene - other times they just get in the way! Such is life. It isn't worth losing any sleep over it. I think only those of us who actually lived in the steam age truly appreciate the aromas that surrounded a working steam engine - and we're all getting on a bit nowadays!
