Nah there's many reasons to why Star Wars was so good, effects being one of them. The effects that George Lucas' company, Industrial Light and Magic, made at the time were revolutionary and they still hold up today. The acting was brilliant, and while the scripting was a bit soap opera-y, the overall story was brilliant. It's inspired filmmakers for generations as to what films and filmmakers can do. Like, the Avengers and Marvel films are cool and I love them, but they don't hold a candle to the original Star Wars films. The effects are cool nowadays, but it's like digital. A lot of it isn't practical effects which removes you from the immersion. Like, The Thing is so good because of its practical effects whereas the remake from about 9 years ago is nowhere near as scary - which used CGI. This comment is defo unnecessary but like I just needed to get it off my chest. Also no, acting isn't just something that gets better over time like athletics. Acting is simulating emotions and situations that have happened or theoretically could happen. Football is a sport which relies on the evolution of athletics and tactics. Anyway, yeah, Star Wars is amazing
