This is one of my fav sites I grew up going to golden sands it's a fantastic site you can also watch typhoons doing training sometimes from Coningsby and Waddington

It is a lovely site, and Mablethorpe is a nice small seaside town. I also spent many happy childhood years coming here! Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Kirsty! 😀

Excellent tour, seems like it has more activities / entertainment than the Haven in Skegness we went to recently.

I can't comment on the Skegness Haven site because I've not been! However a friend of mine said it was good 👍 yes golden sands was decent mate!

Wow that caravan is huge. We both have lots of great memories of Mablethorpe from when we were young. Dave said they went every year with his parents and sister and brother. We've been a few times recently and loved it. Lots of amusements there. That site looks really good with the bar and lots to do. Good you can get a bus into Skeggy. Love the beach, looks fantastic. Lots of activities there. Love the lake with the ducks. Thank you for sharing this. We enjoyed looking around. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

Hi Dave and Dawn. Yes, Mablethorpe is a nice area indeed. Always find it to be a bit cheaper than Ingolmells. Mablethorpe Rock also has the best ice cream 😃 😊 😀 the site is better than I remember but then it was a good few years ago I stayed on site. Thanks for watching 😃

Stayed at Golden Sands as a child during the 60's. During the late 60's they added what they called the extension site "where the touring site is" The two sites were separated by the Holivans site until Haven built a road at the back joining the two sites. The touring site just had a small toilet block and a prefab pub. The main site also had a touring/camping site at the front near to the red brick building as you walked to wards the Ferryboat Inn. Everybody called Theddlethorpe North End in those days and the amusement arcade adjoining the Ferryboat Inn was Michael's Prize Bingo. I've stayed in statics at both sites and also camped at both. The beach and sand dunes are grade A. When you went on to Theddlethorpe Beach and looked left there used to be a large concrete structure about 2 miles away from where you stood. They used to practice bombing using Vulcan Bombers at about 10pm most night. There was signs down the beach stating it was MOD property and a No Go area. When they practiced the bombing they used large sand bags and from the campsite you saw a bright flash then a dull thud. I walked down to the structure early one morning "I was about 9 years old" and as i was walking through the dunes a Vulcan flew over me very low and the sound will haunt me forever.

Oh wow 😮 I remember bits of my time when I was young early 80s some of what you mentioned. I’ve seen a Vulcan once years ago fly over Newark and I’ve never heard a roar like it before! It was so loud! I can only imagine how it was hearing it flying over low doing a run!
