I had my Chihuahua girl for 16 of the most amazing years. I loved her so much. She got very sick in 2018 because of age and had to make the decision. My girl at first fought the needle and I took my girl’s head in my hands and told her it was OK to go. I told her how much I loved her. She stopped fighting. I was beside myself with grief. Her cat brother was even more depressed than I was as he helped raise her. A year later at age 19 it was his time but I kept him home. I put him on my lap. Told him he could go and that Montana was waiting for him. I kissed him and told him how much I loved him. They’re buried next to each other in my back yard. But that wasn’t the end. I kept hearing my girl bark. There were no other Chihuahuas out so late. It was hard at first to mail bills alone as I always took my girl. One day I looked next to me and swear I saw my girl walking beside me like she used to. We’ll of course I thought I was seeing things. So I get the mailbox and this stranger walks up to me and said I see your dog! I said she’s dead. The girl walked away. Then it hit me on the way home. I wasn’t alone seeing my girl who was looking out for me and coming with me. I was alone. No dog, no cat. I tried a couple dogs but it didn’t work. But they healed me from my grief. But too bonded to Montana ai gave up on another dog. I needed a new cat. I kept asking Manny send me a new cat! a well one night I got into bed and my cat appeared. I got this odd feeling. He then disappeared. Three months later I found my two cats I have now. I named the boy cat Manny2. I named his sister Money. Both started with M just like my dog and cat. Manny2 and Money are my first non Siamese. Money is so much like my dog. Very loving. She eats out of Montana’s dog bowls. Her brother is as rowdy as Manny was. He has Manny’s same voice. One day I looked at his food bowls that have seen three previous cats and it was turned sideways. My dog used to do that to her bowls and her cat brother’s bowls. It’s comforting having these two cats one with the personality of my dog, the other with the personality of my late cat. They’re still with me in spirit. It’ll be years before my two leave me due to old age. And it won’t surprise me at all if I catch a glimpse of them out of the corner of my eye, or hear Manny2 meow to me or my girl paw at my bedroom door. I feel Manny and Montana around. I just don’t see or hear them anymore. Feeling their presence is good enough.

@@TJ-bn2cn Nobody is tainting anything. There are some people that "love" their pets to death. Collars are just an observation, and a right one. Skin has to breathe and regardless how well the collar is fitted, it does cause harm being left on 24/7. Some dogs have curved dew claws that can get hung up (I've seen it happened) on the collar's metal loop. Imagine a dog or a cat, having to suffer for hours with one of its paws stuck while nobody was home. There are some ugly sides to all that love, and it doesn't taint to talk about it. I no longer have a dog in my life after having one or more at a time for most of my life. So I do know what I’m missing but since I no longer have a car having an animal just doesn’t make sense. I miss having a dog to cuddle with when I’m feeling sad and alone. I miss having a reason to go out for a walk and I miss the joy of watching a silly dog who made me laugh out loud every day of our fifteen year relationship. He’s been gone since 2018 and a day rarely goes by when I don’t think about him. I know having a dog would improve my quality of life but is it fair to any animal at my age(in my 80th year)? Where I live animals are permitted but as our population ages there is only one dog left in the entire community. It’s a sad situation for so many seniors who just don’t have the resources to make their life better, fuller, less stressful in a way that only the relationship of man and dog. There has to be a way to help seniors who want a dog to have one without the exorbitant costs of veterinary care impeding them. Am I missing something? I’m missing the relationship I had with my animals.💔💔💔
@FigaroHey Жыл бұрын
@@roansmom2004 What about a communal pet? Share the dog with several others. Ask a veterinarian about the breed or temperament you need, or adopt a former therapy dog or a drop-out from a guide dog program, that is well-trained and comfortable with people. It's simple: the dog sleeps in one person's place, and visits the others for meals or a few hours each day before that person walking the dog on to the next 'owner'. Let's say the dog slept at your place last night. In the morning, you take the dog out for a walk to the neighbor down the street, who gives the dog breakfast. After a couple of hours of interaction with the dog, that person walks the dog to the next address - make it a maximum of 15 minutes away; longer or shorter depending on the person's mobility. The dog spends a couple of hours with that person, who then walks the dog to the next person's home. Finally at the end of the day, the dog spends the night with the last person it ends up with. It would not be too hard to work out which block of time is the dog's meal time (let's say 8am or noon or 6pm). Whoever has the dog at that time feeds the dog. You'd have to work it out so that the several owners get the dog at different times of day (overnight; 8-10; 10:15-12:15; 12:30-2:30; 2:45-4:45; 5:00-7:00pm; 7:15pm-overnight). Each person's shift with the dog would change because each morning, the person who has the dog would be passing the dog on to the person closest to his home, and the dog would circle around to the other owners according to who lives closest. So of you have 7 owners, A (the Overnight owner for the day) would pass the dog to Owner B, who passes it to C, then to D, then to E, then to F, then to G - who does not live next door to 'A/Overnight' from yesterday. G lives near C, let's say, who now gets the dog at 8AM and and passes the dog on to D at 10AM. With planning, the rotation could change every day. The dog would sleep in a different place every night and the dog would rotate among the people at different times and would be fed by different people on different days. If you have an owner with serious mobility problems - using a walker and on oxygen, for example, and can't even walk 5 minutes to the next house - you work it out so that someone more fit walks to that person and takes the dog home, rather than the mobility-challenged person having to walk the dog on to the next house. If you are able to sign up several dozen people for this project, you could map out where everyone lives, take into consideration their mobility issues, and organize them accordingly into groups that would each adopt and co-own a different dog so that each group of dog-owners lives within a walkable distance from each other. Some members might be able to walk longer to deliver a dog and return home; some may only be able to walk down the hall of an apartment building to deliver the dog to the next person. Some people will be able to walk to a different house each day; some - because of mobility or memory issues - will have to walk to the same house each day. You might have a dog who is owned by people who all live within one or two houses of each other on the same block or on different floors of the same apartment building, and other dogs who are owned by people who live several streets away from each other and who are fit enough to walk to a different house in the neighborhood every day. You work that out when you form the groups. The dog would get plenty of walks, the elderly people would connect with each other and form a community, and nobody would have the whole burden of walking a dog twice a day or cleaning up after it or feeding it daily. If the older people have to walk the dog to a different address each day, they will meet all the people on the list, creating a circle of acquaintances bonded over the dog. They will also get variety in their walks, which is good for their mental acuity as well as physical health. They would form a group of people who are expecting them to show up, so it would be an automatic 'alarm system' if one member didn't show up with the dog. Looking out for the dog, the people would look out for one another. The people in the group could contribute a set sum to pay for veterinarian costs. You could form several such groups in one community. It would not take long for your community to have more dogs, be more active and social and have better mental, physical and emotional health, as well as keeping the neighborhood lively by being out and about with the dogs. Inevitably, if you become a community that bonds over their co-ownership and care of dogs, there will be people who want to have gatherings in the park with each group's dog, or a dog show or call in a dog trainer to help them all manage their dog, or even take their dogs to visit people in nursing homes and cheer them up. Once people bond over their shared dogs, they would find other ways to socialize together with the dogs.

I love them very much, but when they die, the suffering is very painful and long-lasting. I lost my four-legged friend, my biggest friend 4 days ago. I'm going to get sick with grief...😢

Those cruel buggers at 8:08 have a bark collar on that husky. He can't make a louder vocalization or he gets an electric shock that is why his voice sounds so unusual.

My opinion, there is nothing better on earth, than DOGS. I wish I could have everyone of them. Its painful to see so many homeless, hungry and abused. Yes, as they say dog spelled backwards is God and that is what they are Gods. I miss my dog if I go to the other room, never mind if leave the house.
