Having fun baking something with my berries.

Hi! Friends! .. It's been a while since I did any baking. As you will be able to tell after you watch this video. Ha! Ha! ..... So I thought I would use some of my Blackberries, and have some fun trying my hand at baking Blackberry Crunch from scratch like Mom use to do.
This summer it has been hot, and raining a lot, so the Blackberry and Red Raspberry bushes had the best crop ever! I made jars of Jam, and froze enough berries to get me through the winter. Also I have been eating so many I might turn purple. Ha! Ha!
The bushes are about done producing now, I will let the Robins and critters have the rest of them.

Hi! Angeline! .. Thank you for watching my video! And thank you for your nice comments! ... I don't know what is more fun. Making yummy things or eating them! Ha! Ha! The berry crop was very large this summer, so I have lots of berries to last for a while. I still have some containers in the refrigerator that I have to make something with, or maybe freeze. I didn't plant any vegetable garden this year. But I do have some special Moonflowers growing by the side of my house, and garage. They are huge, and getting lots of flowers now. The ones planted up against the house, and garage the roots can survive the winters. Because of the heat from the basement, and garage foundations. Then in Spring the roots re sprout, and make new plants. Pretty cool! All I do is cover the roots in the Fall with lots of tree leaves to help hold in the heat. I would like to do more gardening, but my back, and joints can be very painful. Then if I crawl on my hands, and knees I think it messes with blood flow to my legs. And it is very hard for me to get back up on my feet when my legs cramp up. On the bright side of things... If it is is a nice weather day it isn't so bad, because I can lay there and work on my suntan for a while, as long as the ants don't go up my clothes! Ha! Ha! I hope you have a good week! Hi! Bob! and the crew! .. Thanks for watching my videos! and your nice comments! ... I agree, it is mouth watering good! Now I want to go and eat another piece. Ha! Ha! .... There a problem... I should have made a double batch! Ha! Ha! .. I ate one piece, then another, then another! Ha! Ha! The only thing I would do different is to make a bottom layer of crumbles, like a crust. Then it would be perfect. Ha! Ha! . Once it cooled down I cut it into squares, and keep in the fridge. You are an expert baker, so my baking abilities are pretty silly. My cakes normally come out of a box. Ha! Ha! I am surprised this came out as good as it did. Not as fancy as Mom's would be, but still yummy! Ha! Ha! I also made quite a few jars of Blackberry jam. That is really good on toast. Then I froze a whole bunch of berries so I can do something with them at a later time. Years ago I use to can a lot of different things in jars. Some good tasting stuff, and some not so good. My hot peppers were sometimes like eating fire. Ha! Ha! ..... I started that berry patch about 20 years ago. It has taken over that whole side of my yard. All I have to do is make sure they don't dry up in the sandy soil. This was the best crop ever. Dog gone it! Now I have gone and made myself hungry! Ha! I have been making it last, so I have only eaten half of it so far. So you got to get here quick. Ha! Ha! .... I hope your summer has been going good. It has been hot and humid here. With plenty of rain to keep things green. It is crazy to think that the temperature can go from -15 in winter up to over 90 degrees F now. Hey! How are you guys doing now days!!! I'm going berry crazy on my channel so I thought watching yours again would give me some fresh ideas! Are you looking forward to Spring....checking up on any of your plants? I'm keeping things simple but we had a couple of nice days so did some yard work. Hi! Bill! ... Thanks for your nice comment, and thank you for watching my video! The next time I make it I think that spackle would make a good bottom crust under the berry's. Just let it set up first. Ha! Ha! .. It tastes really good. I wish I would have made a larger pan. I already ate half of it. Ha! Ha! .. I haven't made any silly videos in a long time so I thought I would give it a try again. There's not to much new with me. It has been hot, and wet so far this summer. When it is hot and humid I can't stay outside for to long. ... A lot of people around here are under a lot of stress because of the virus, controlling, and the other things going on. There is stress in the air when I go out an about. I have lots to say about those subjects, but I am not going to get on my soap box today, an go off on a rant. Or this would be a really long note. We never know what to expect next, but like you said it good to still be alive. I have medical problems too. But I am not going to start complaining, and make this a really long note. Ha! Ha! There sure are a lot of crazy, and wrong things going on in our country now days. .... But if I get on my soap box this note could be as long as a book. Ha! Ha! ..... It is one of those things that a person can't eat just one piece. Unless the piece was half of the pan. Ha! Ha! .. Darn it! I forgot to add some catnip whiskey to the berry mix. Bet that would have spiced it up nice. Ha! Ha! .... Stimpy sure knows how to throw a Caturday party, and pull pranks. You are right. Those were red fire ants Stimpy put in the berries for extra protein, and flavor. Even after cooking them they are still crunchy! Ha! Ha! The hot dogs Stimpy was grilling weren't the best. They were made of swamp weeds, and tad poles! uuuueeeeeee! Ha! Ha! I hope it isn't as hot by you today, and you get some rain to green things up. Those fires sure are scary once they get going. It has been so wet here, I don't think there have been any bad fires so far. . ...I see Stimpy is up to his pranks again! Those alligators of his are mean as a snapping turtle with a catnip whiskey hangover! Ha! Ha! ... Once the gator got a hold of the backside of my shorts, it would not let go! .... So, I had to loose my shorts, and run from the creek, and back to the house! The worse part is the mosquitoes are horrible! Now I itch in places where the fire ants didn't find! Ha! Ha!
