Thank you for sharing your thorough & well-conveyed knowledge! I am about to start my soldering journey and you've helped me feel confident in starting. (also, your accent is beautiful)

Hahahah thank you! I still cant get rid of it lol! You can do it! Soldering is so fun! Dont be afraid and allow yourself to make mistakes without judging yourself :)) I am here if you have any questions!! :)

Thanks for this. Always helpful. I have the same iron as you and have used a sponge only a couple of times because I didn't think it was good for it. Now I know. Thank you.

Yeah that has been my theory since I started. Water causes rust. So I never use the sponge. If you use rosin flux and coat your iron w solder once you are done using it - it should be fine :)

Looks like I’m doing everything wrong 😢. $6 soldering iron, cleaning with steel wool and wet sponge 😂, tip’s burning through. Time to invest in better equipment. You make it look so easy 😊. On the plus side, I have made and sold my first pendant and have two more done. Thanks for making this a fun thing to do. I am off to buy some better equipment.

Yayayayay!!!!!! I am so happy for you!! That is so awesome!!! I have been meaning to post more of my pieces to etsy and to IG - but girl has tooooooo many things on her plate. Which is not an excuse for me - but you know! Thank you for inspiring me - I might also do it. And yes - I swear by that iron - it has been great for two years. As long as you condition the tip. And even if you burn thru - it has replacement tips. Highly recommend it. Hugs!!😘

Do you have any advice for preventing the copper from lifting when I apply solder? I've already tried switching to different copper tape and lowering the temperature of my soldering iron. However, when I lower the temperature, the solder wire doesn't melt properly. I typically work on watches, but the copper tape tends to peel off easily when the solder is applied on top of it.

Do you use liquid flux at all, or just resin?

I try to take care and conditioning my tip… I am new in this, and using my soldering station for the first time, 30 minutes of using it have passed, and it’s already black and rusty 😭 and I don’t know what am I doing wrong
@eugeniaedits9 ай бұрын
Hi! Sorry you are having troubles! I did too when I started! the quality of your soldering iron matters a lot too - so might not be your fault! If the solder comes out too black - I would try decreasing the temperature of the soldering iron. If your does not have an adjusting temp knob - I would get a new one that does :) temperature is another crucial thing, YOU CAN DO IT! You will learn soon and will be a pro! :)) I m here if you need any help!

Tinning the tip does not need to be done with the most expensive solder you have got. Any solder will do. I know many use tinning fluid/powder, just be aware of lead/no lead. Just saying it because if you solder all day all week and all month, it is getting very expensive to tin the tip with the most expensive solder out there. 😉

it is spelled S O L D E R - see the 'L' in there? I stopped watching this at 19seconds because this person thinks that the word is SODER - which is bad enough from an American who knows no better - but from someone who thinks they learned ENGLISH it is frankly annoying.

oh, sorry that my accent is in the way of you enjoying my videos. Perhaps you are fluent in any foreign language and are brave to put yourself out to there in hopes to help others. But most likely, you are just brave enough to leave mean comments and the only language you speak is bad English with bad manners

The "L" is silent in this word. This comment is so unnecessarily rude and inaccurate.
