@@kayla_bowler Groceries will never get cheaper, as have been here 5 years, so I try to buy on sale (even that's $$). Make your best, as the beauty of the island makes up for it. I grow some edibles so that helps.

I live on Maui and yes it’s expensive. I do most of my grocery shopping at Target or Walmart.

Yes I learned very fast that safeway and KTA were big no nos 😂, Target and Walmart have been my go tos!

It is worth it to go to costco and get meat, and then get your fresh stuff from other stores life Safeway. Also coupon is the best way to save at Safeway. That is how we managed.

oh YES a huge difference! Groceries are much more expensive and I have a rental car here, but short term housing was about the same cost
