Mahalo for sharing.. an enjoyable video! In Hawaii, we do not write or pronounce 'shave ice' in the past tense.. ALWAYS in the present tense.. so no 'd' at the end when spoken or written. Halona Beach is not an authorized beach, so that's why no lifeguard station. Dangerous waves when currents are strong. Some have perished due to ignorance with waves 8n Hawaii. Beach is famous due to 1953 movie From Here to Eternity, with Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr. Famous love scene with them lying on beach in a passionate kiss. Script was for they to stand up and kiss, but he and she felt it needed to be changed to they lying down, and the result is the legendary still photo. Oh, that cave at Halona Beach just goes to the opposite side of the 2 laned highway (entry to cave be made from either sides... Another youtuber a few years ago showed him going down from mountain side and exiting out at beach end. You have to try eating saimin, developed from old sugar plantation days with influences from the chinese, japanese and filipino races. 🤙

This was back in November 2021, just before they lifted those requirements and Hawaii had just reopened!
