My best advice is to just go with it and see what strumming pattern works with you. Make the pattern match the song and repeat it as need to match the tempo, and feel free to change it for quick parts. It will be difficult at first, but a few times of playing it and you'll know the strumming pattern for about each chord that works for you. However, if you want my advice, for fast strumming on some main sections: For the first scene (G, Am7, G...), Do G D DU UDU, and a one strum transition Am7. Going back to G, complete one strum D, pause, (or the D will be held over) and D DU UDU TWICE for the remaining time of that chord. (D..D DU UDU D DU UDU). When it goes from C, G, C, go D DU UDU D (REMEMBER THE LAST D) for C, D D for G, and D DU UDU x2 for C. (specific lyrics: "I'll play till the sun sets beyond the horizon.") From D7 to C, go D DU UDU x2 per each chord. The rest of the parts, I would just improvise. Yes, you will have to go quickly!!! If you want to do it this way, just remember to free your wrist. It will become more like shaking than strumming. If you tense it, this will be a million times more difficult. Melody: Tessa Holman 2 years ago If you want the picking pattern here it is :) A--------------0--- E---1-1-1---1-----3-1 C--------2---0------ (Everyone does it differently, but I personally find it easiest to use my pointer finger on strings E and thumb on C, with middle finger on A); Although I must mention, this perhaps may be in a different key because when I play it, it sounds slightly off...If you would like to try it, I recommend it at the beginning scene, or the instrumental section. I will update if I find a melody in key with this specific video... Thanks for this video, this is really enjoyable; my ukulele strings are probably suffocating right now! :)

-Practice G a lot -Check hand positioning to make sure you can move it smooth and quick -For the C-G ones you can slide your middle finger down to the place it would be on G (without lifting it) ☺️☺️

One of my students because they had very small hands plays a G with first finger on the first string second fret and their second (middle)finger on third string second fret with the ring finger as traditional on the second string third fret. Then when you transition to C you just roll down your ring finger to first string C on the third fret and pick up the others. Basically the first and second fingers are switched. I have started teaching my students this fingering because this shape lends itself to being able to quickly transition to so many chords and my students find it an easier way to learn Ukulele. There is less movement of the fingers to F or Dmin, Emin, Amin, D. Its all a little different at first to get used to but it comes pretty quickly. And if you are new to the Ukulele and haven't learned the other G It's much easier (atleast what has been demonstrated by all my students of the years) just to learn it from the get go. A lot of repetition.

Thanks, Tim! I also have seen people teach a barre chord, like Cm, and add a finger to it (the barre would be on the 2nd fret). G is such an important chord on ukulele...it is used on 802 of the 1250 songs that we've made play alongs from...it is essential to "get," one way or another, if you (meaning "anyone") are going to play ukulele.

Are the beginning chords before the lyrics start just one strum?
@ukeplayalongs
@ukeplayalongs 11 ай бұрын
There’s really no answer. This is a strumming play along that doesn’t match what the actual instruments are doing exactly with their parts. The chords align with the chords being played by the instruments in the recording at that time.

The most important thing is that you said, "For me." So many players are concerned about a "right" pattern...but there is no such thing. There are patterns that work, and those that don't, but you could use a million different variations of the patterns that work. Thanks for sharing what works for you.
