Rail leader details what she describes as bullying by the HART board

Embattled rail CEO Lori Kahikina said Tuesday that she no longer wants the job if she continues to be bullied and harassed by the HART board.

I watched the board meeting. Kahikina conducted herself very well. Hanabusa and her crony came off as condescending and aggressive. Kahikina came on board a sinking ship full of holes, and the boat is filled with people yelling and blaming her for everything while she is trying to patch the boat up while they do nothing but watch. My opinion is that they hired her as a scape goat for the project they championed that is clearly failing despite what anyone does to save it. They just need someone to pin the blame on for rail’s failure while they sneak away and hide in their big mansions up in Hawaii Kai. Our local government at its finest. I have no faith in these politicians.

Hanabusa is awful!! She needs to step down. She always tries to muscle her way into things and seems to do things like raise objections to things without basis to do so. She is not a nice person at all and should be no where in front of the public in any politcal office or otherwise.

Kahikina is the scapegoat as no one else is around though most of the problems came way before due to their incompetence and dishonesty by many before her. She has done a great job of making herself available communicating good and bad news and getting the rail started with so much more that needs to be done. HART staff need to be supported like Iwasa as everyone seems to hate HART. Hanabusa - what have you done to raise the morale of staff? If you really want to help, quit. You cannot have a politician chair HART - they only want the limelight. The board needs to own up to all of the shortcoming and blame for the errors.
