@leisure hub Jonathan (the singer here) denounced his faith and left the band. Hawk Nelson is currently on hiatus and whatever happens, it will probably be up to their bassist Daniel Biro (he owns the rights to the band). Let’s pray their original singer Jason Dunn rejoins them in the near future.

I first heard the song 'The Lord Reigns' in 1989 when I was 9yo. Even then I just wanted to shout & dance His name. There were times in my where life was tough & in those times a lot of time I found myself singing The Lord Reigns. In times of darkness & self doubt the song The Lord reigns just gave me so much hope & happiness in knowing who our God is in all His might/strength & to know that His love endures forever. Thirty one years later I am still singing 'The Lord Reigns' - Hallelujah!

I really do feel for him, and understand his struggles, I really do. There's a lot in the Bible that I personally cannot reconcile. I want to believe that God is good, but, often, the Bible can get in the way of believing that. Media is powerful. Jon left because he thought deeply on his faith. He didn’t leave frivolously. If you think deeply in your faith and what you believe maybe you’ll come to similar conclusions. I did. I think it creates a lot of fear and insecurity of leaving when one’s identity is so tied up Jesus. Life is good beyond god.

This is a song that is a parable, now out of love here is some apologetics, 94% humanly knowable that Christ rose from the dead. 6% that evolution is humanly true. 100% knowable that exists when you have a super natural experience of God’s love. Just a few of such occurrences, “near death experience (NDE)”, actual encounter with the Holy Spirit, and an actual appearance of Christ (it does happen). The 6% is likely >0.6% because there has never been anything to support evolution that hasn’t been proven false. Learn to love the truth!
