After 1 year, Graf Zeppelin will get her buff on Operation Siren update

The graf zeppelin was a Germany’s first(and last) CV, and like many of other countries first purpose built carriers she had a list of problems, but in this case the, issues in question made the ship all but useless in it’s intended role. The biggest of these was her artillery batterie, she had more 8in guns then most heavy cruisers, along with this she had as much Armour as most battleships. “Why is this a problem?” You might ask, because this takes up hanger space, if a CV is in a gun duel with another warship something has gone horribly wrong. Another big issue was that by 1944, the Germans were pretty much out of planes, this is compounded by the fact that you can’t just put a 109 on a carrier unless you really don’t like that pilot, and they lacked the capacity to produce a naval fighter variant. Assumeing she ever got her aircraft, from what I understand, there were also some issues with her elevators and catapults that limited there effectiveness greatly. All in all, the Kriegsmarine were probably better off with out her. She was eventually captured and used as target practice by the Soviets because they had no better use for her, she proved to be so tough that they would eventually have to use scuttling charges to sink the ship. Also, “superior German technology” is BS, certainly during world war 2 and I can give three examples off the top of my head. Yes, I know it’s a joke, I really don’t care, Im sick of hearing in the context of WW2 and this is a good a place as any to vent my frustration. High pressure machinery, and on that note, destroyer warfare in general, as drachinfel put it, German destroyers believe that they were pretzels. Cryptology(thanks Poland and every one else that helped in that effort) Radar(Not to say they didn’t have it, but they definitely lagged behind the allies during the war) Oh and while we’re here, I would like to remind everyone that the Tiger P exists(well it did, and then it caught on fire after trying to go up a small hill).

Love momma Zeppelin~ She’s perfect in PvE and great for PvP even with her slow reload. It’s so slow that all skills from any ship in the game are on cooldown when she launches strikes and it’s easy for her to take out any remaining targets after the first wave of attacks. Just gotta use her right~

The 12/22/20 patch had her Aviation and Reload actually got boosted with the patch (hard to tell what with the change of the 125 patch) At max limit break she can use a torpedo bomber in her third slot. Her "Iron Blood Wings" skill now boosts her aviation for each Iron blood ship (up to 3, I assume including her too, 5% each). Her "Iron Blood Hawk" Gives the efficiency boost to all slots if one has german planes. A new German TB (introduced with the gear lab) is ideal for this as it's akin to the Ryusei and leaves other slots for better Fighters and DBs. About making the German TB, the Heinkel He 50b (He-50b) can be gotten from T2 or T3 Ironblood boxes, though I think the early story stuff of Operation Siren gives you I think one of those or an Arado Ar 195 (Ar 195 in EN game text). You can just upgrade from there.

Glorious German Mama! She was my flagship until Mommy Bismarck dropped, and even now she' still in my main fleet. She works great as both a mob-killer due to the sheer number of bombs she drops, and as a boss killer thanks to two dive bombers at 170% efficiency (She can actually keep pace with Enterprise in terms of damage, OWARI DA notwithstanding). Plus her L2D skin is the thing of legends.

In regards to Graf Zeppelin, her reload and damage output gets much, much better with Bismarck in the fleet. And as for Roon, she is best DPS output CA in the game. As for the dodge on CAs... that is unfortunate but it can be remedied with equip. Especially with the new equipment, not to mention that lvl 120 upgrade solves it for late game content. Check the level 120 eveasion stats too when looking at CAs. That aside, your content is great and I love it! Continue being great!

I'm pretty surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the Graf Zeppelin+Z25+Tirpitz or Bismarck combo. It's a combo that makes Tirpitz or Bismarck when they're set as the flagship ridiculously tanky, but do keep in mind that the damage reduction has huge diminishing returns when you try to stack it any higher.

As a KMS main player of CN , I once thought Zeppelin is underpowered but when I actually start using her , her 15% decrease on damage received for all KMS ships , makes those ship from being beefy to literally a undying level of Tanky . German bombers also give that nice volume of bombs that makes her damage surprisingly good , though her fighters are definitely bad for the low damage , I would pick some other nation`s fighter instead of the German ones

Easiest way to use Graff is by running a Z fleet. Since DDs are squishy, but with with Z1 and the fact DDs have high EVA makes them near unsinkable because even if they do get hit the damage will be negligable. I use a Z fleet for PVP even lol.

Fun fact: IRL Graf Zeppelin was a legitimately terrible aircraft carrier design. She had a displacement of 33,000 tons, and carried 48 aircraft. For comparison, the Yorktown-class was 8,000 tons lighter, and carried 90 aircraft, almost double that of Graf. The ship Graf was based, on, Akagi, had a similar displacement, and carried a total of 91 aircraft. The Germans also planned on using her not as a proper fleet carrier, but as a heavy cruiser that could also launch aircraft, i.e. her secondaries were intended as her main armament, rather than as a secondary armament.

roon is actually pretty good, both tanky and good barrage, with HE and AP alternativ, so the dmg is quite average out even againt lgith and medium armour enemy, she could rival backline and elite DD(laffey/ayanami...etc) in dmg done

Showing the use of a certain faction, the buffs coming out from a build (i.e Graff buffs out Iron Blood so as Bismarck in this patch thus granting them a decent power to compete) or do it as in general, show the main selling point of the faction (HMS As the Hot Maid Ships, jk, like HMS ship has a well rounded CL, a defensive/supportive CV, and an good - on par bb) and compare them to each other. Or for an apple to apple i think making it by their classes would be nice as well like The Iron Blood cruiser are well known for their Shields Sturdy Armour etc, The US Cruisers are known for the DPS and well rounded stuff. I could interpret it wrong here cause English is not my first language (apologies for that)but, i tried my best to explain it.

I would use ironblood ships, but the majority of them are event exclusive. For someone who started playing at the very end of the winter's crown event in march of this year, you don't have a lot of access to that faction unfortunately.

Agreed. I was lucky and started playing 3 days before Divergent Chessboard started. Sweated the whole time, cause I ended up with 6 copies of Z46 throughout the whole event, but didn't get my single copy of Tirp and Graf till the final day. Back to back. With my last 4 cubes. Many, many sacrifices happened that night. Many bloody sacrifices.

Graf zepellin and zeppy chan are the only iron blood carriers so you can tell how you can set up your fleet with them

Please note that -The Ju dive bombers suck. They have such a spread out attack, you'll be lucky if more than 4 bombs hit a ship. On top of that, the majority of her bombs are 100 pound, doing tickle damage. -also you are locked in with the ME fighter plane which has no bombs of its own further lessening the damage. -there are few good KMS ships unlke HMS, IJN, USS so cant have good synergy. If you want a country-themed fleet, go with any other country. -KMS fleet is pretty expensive. There Tirp, Bis, Graf, and the expensive heavy cruisers. (76 oil) i think she is pretty weak, even with the new kms Bismarck. but definitely better once you get Roon

Graf will always outdamage enty if lucky E fail to proc. I used both of them along with ark in aviation daily challange a lot. Shes one of the ship that base skin is far better than sold skin imo, which another one being that US destroyer I forgot her name was. Her huge damage output and slow reload suit the boss fleet more, while zeppy are born to clear mob. I mean, she probably wont even attack once if your vanguard are good, or just attack at the end when low enemy hp left. At least in boss, you can hold the airstrike till the boss came out, and smash it with the hail of 1000 pound german finest iron.

I use, Tirpitz, Zeppy (until I get Bismarck) Graf Zeppline, Z23, Prinz and Laffey (until I finish Lep).

If you have her, I'd reccommend looking into replacing Laffey with Z1. She's a bit frail, but she has solid torp stats, benefits from all the Ironblood buffs, and effectively turns Z23 into a heavy cruiser.

This is part of the reason I've been working to find the right schedule for videos...I'm aiming to get at least 1 if not 2 a week. As for Saratoga and Lexington, yes they are sisters, but I'm only covering characters together if they are the exact same in terms of stats and skills (like Fusou/Yamashiro).

I feel Bismarck deals a hefty amount of damage. That first salvo always crits, so you take advantage of that with the Shell from the core shop to further boost that crit damage. Oh and a tip for deutschland class, the faster the gun fires the sooner their awesome barrage triggers. (Best used with core CA gun or the HE research gun). Skip the 283 except for the BB version, you want it for nonsense fast main guns with arizona.

Mama Graf = Glorious German Engineering Gone Wrong. S Tier Design and top tier Waifu material but as far as combat goes she's only effective in Iron Blood fleets and when i say that i mean she's in "Alright i guess" tier at most. Ffor being the only SR Carrier in Iron Blood she's seriously undewhelming and needs retrofit ASAP.

Amagi±GrafZeppelin allows the Z Fleet to tank for daysssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Also, pretty sure that it for stacks with every damage reduction you can slap, including the safety feature. Also, would suggest to use Hellcat instead or the pirate squad on her. Ironblood fighters dont carry bombs and hurts her damage potential.

Her offensive skills really limits her power as it only works with iron blood planes, which is pretty weak compare to other country's planes IMO. However, her defensive skill is really good for a iron blood fleet.

I think it's just me, but KMS ships are underrated imo. Z23 Retrofit is already scary with her ridiculous gun efficiency and her scary skills. Couple the Vanguard with Z1 for Z destroyer buff, and Prinz or Roon as tank will be a very great lineup. With the release of Bismarck, and if you have the ships, pairing the back line with Tirpitz, which is one of the best BB's out there, and Graf Zeppelin (preferably zeppy), would be a very devastating combo. If you also get the certificate of sponsorship, running out of ammo wouldn't be as bad as the original debuff, since the certificate reduces that debuff. I think it would be an equivalent to an IJN fleet, with the correct equipment.

I personally don't think they are bad ships. Graff Spee and Deutschland have a nice skill to help them in mob fleets, but a full ironblood fleet does have some issues with overall damage output..one I finish Roon. There's a free setups I personally want to give a shot. Z23+Graf Spee+Karl's(or Köln) I could also swap Deutschland for Spee or even use Roon instead.

@@Hawk2zer0 That's surprising that you say that the problem would be on damage output. A front line composed of Z Destroyers with Z23 in there, is also very scary in terms of sheer firepower. Usually, it would be Z1 and Z23 paired so as to fix the evasion problems of Z23 while at the same time, buffing her overall firepower even more. The third one would be a tank or Z46 if you want. If you have a retrofit of Z23, I'd recommend to pair her up with Z1 for the buff, even if it only affects Z23.

@@st11a7poncefranz8 it's the fact that there exists several non KMS ships (aside from DD ships) that can easily outperform them would be what I mean. There are a few CLs and CAs that can easily surpass them (unless it's Prinz Eugen...then most will). From what I hear, that small group grows overtime... I don't have an issue with using them...I'm starting to like Spee a bit. But I know there are better alternatives...as well... DDs are fine and that front line can be scary, but once the enemies don't miss as much their low health pool can be an issue.

But Prinz Eugen even now can tank Chapter 11's Bosses without too much trouble, due to her high luck stat, high HP and the existence of EVA gear

@@Hawk2zer0 Eugen and Roon could fix the health issues, but now that you mentioned it, there are some very scary destroyers out there too. I think Yukikaze or Ayanami is basically the very embodiment of destruction, it's debatable that laffey is stronger than both Z and Javelin, we also got the retrofit sandy, and a lot of other CA's and DD's that could outperform them. But I guess that's the main reason why I think KMS ships are underrated tbh. Despite being DD's, they can still hit very hard and you don't need the best ships necessarily to have the best fleet. Having a fleet full of T0 ships is powerful alright, but remember that those Tier lists are subject to change. Having a unified fleet imo is scarier than a fleet full of unrelated T0 ships. Too bad Bismarck isn't as powerful as Nagato apparently. But I can see potential of a full KMS fleet. But then again, 70-80% of the the most powerful KMS ships are locked in events, which makes acquiring KMS ships very hard.
