I love the small scale model projects. They are simple but it works for me as a relaxing therapy, the historical research and technical design.

The Hamlyn Concise Guide of British Aircraft of World War II. States that the Hawker Demon was replaced by the Bristol Blenheim IF , in 1938 but some were retained as target tugs. Curiously the top of the page shows a really nice profile of a camoflaged Hawker Demon in service with the RAAF in 1940. Really enjoyed the video.

That looks great! I wish I could find a kit of that

I would imagine that when this aircraft left the factory it would look just like your model, with the bright squadron colours only applied once it was at the squadron it was assigned to.

Just give the decals a light spray of clear varnish beforehand. Let them dry thoroughly, and use as normal. This model also looks good in camouflage colours - some were, I believe, used in some parts of the world right at the very start of WW2, as a stopgap until something more advanced became available.

Hi. I remember building this kit when I was a kid and like you I thought that it was beautiful. I had a plan tto build all of the same type of aircraft. The Hind,Hart,Fury to name just a few. So much for my plans, never did get round to doing it. But I still love the shape of this aircraft even to ghis day. Thanks for the memories.

very nice - a kit i have, but haven't built yet. i think the demon saw brief service in east africa in 1940 (i'll have to confirm, it's near relatives the fury and haartebeast definitely did).
