Hawkeye Model Railroad Club: 2,000 Sq. Ft. HO Layout: Scenes & Cab Ride.

The Hawkeye Model Railroad club, located near Iowa City, in Coralville, Iowa, operates a 2000 sq.ft. HO-Scale layout with a Midwestern theme. Starting at the city of Western Bluffs, the mostly single-track main line proceeds across the state of Iowa to River City and then Eastern Yard. Branch lines diverge from the main at Rockport and Iowa City to serve the towns of South Branch and Ridgeville, respectively. Other major destinations include the ethanol plant at Archer, the brewery at Hatchison, and Acme manufacturing at Ketchall. There are about 400 freight cars on the layout, serving over 40 industries. Trains enter and leave the layout via a double helix to staging yards on a lower level. Scenery is about 80% complete.
