Philly had a great run. Squeeze into the playoffs via shootout against the Rangers and then after going down 3-0 games to Boston they managed to tie the series and in Game 7 they went down 3-0 only to come back and beat them 4-3. It's a shame they lost to the Blackhawks later on. What a run...

Loving the series but finally getting to watch again - fall is a busy time for me. I get your desire to stop and was happy first of all you retold the classic stories of the Original 6 through the WHA times (was a kid in the 80's so nice to relive those). Been a great ride kinda regretting its over or near over.
@heavymetalthunder23266 жыл бұрын
Yes keep this series going. it is very interesting to watch. Some real cool stuff and interesting news happened during this decade of hockey. NHL hockey had come back to the City of Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. Your two favorite teams, Boston and Vancouver ended up meeting each other in the Stanley Cup Final. Vancouver rioted after losing game 7. The Los Angeles Kings won their first Stanley Cup. After 2012, is what I think is cool about this. Three teams were competing for the Stanley Cup, Chicago Blackhawks Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins. The 2010 - 2017 seasons were like the updated versions of the 1995 - 2003 seasons. New Jersey Devils won the cup three times. Just like the Chicago Blackhawks did. The Colorado Avalanche had won it twice, as did the Los Angeles Kings. Lastly, the Detroit Red Wings won it back to back in 1997 and 1998. The Pittsburgh Penguins accomplished that in the last two seasons. Then there was a team that gave fans a break from the three team dynasty for a season. In this case that team would be the Dallas Stars. The 2011 version of that team would be yours truly, The Boston Bruins. Both of these decades of hockey must have been incredibly frustrating for hockey players to decide which team to play for, if they wanted to win a championship before they retired. Players had good odds of winning a Stanley Cup, they just had too pick the right team.

Kovalchuk saying they'd win because they had brodeur and we had boosh. The come back in the semis, especially game 7. Shutting out Montreal in 3 of the 5 games. Taking both home games of the finals in games 3 and 4, including girouxs ot winner. We didn't win, but I was and still am proud of that team.

Keep up the series. Look at this way, the next 4 days you get to cover the Penguins choking. The next 4 seasons were almost as painful as the rebuild years. I can take being a dumpster fire. I can take losing to an equal or better team, like last season or 2015. Blowing 3-1 leads and losing to 8 seeds, hell no. Yes, I'm greedy. But, I'm a Bengals and Reds fan, this is all I got.

And with that quick turnaround of fortunes, the Blackhawks dynasty of the 2010s begins. I know they aren't a dynasty in the traditional sense of the word, but all things considered the 2010s era Blackhawks should count as this era's dynasty. Very few teams have been able to retain as many players from their initial cup win and won as many cups in a short period of time like the Blackhawks did, especially in the hard salary cap era. The only other team to come close, and still have a chance to top the Blackhawks as far as the dynasty argument, is the Penguins if they win this year and go 3 for 4 and that looks like a long shot given how they looked in the playoffs last year. So, while they may not be liked by certain fan bases, what the Blackhawks did can loosely be compared to what the Patriots accomplished in the NFL in the early 2000s, and that's becoming the first dynasty in a salary cap era of the game. And that is no easy task, especially when the cap in the NHL is a lot stricter than the NFL. Edit: Also, please keep going Shannon, at least until the reorganizing of the divisions. These videos are still fun to watch even if they are recent history.
