@@WolfWould picking up a new hobby while in college feels almost impossible honestly. once I start having some free time (and find a skate park) it seems really fun though! even though I am a wimp lol
@WolfWould2 жыл бұрын
@@Samantha_Lee You are not a wimp. And I totally understand. College kids are who I mostly skated with honestly. It was the physical release of energy that they needed to break from constant thought. Falling Down is half the fun of skating. You'll really want to learn something like even just standing on it and kicking. Then you'll run over your toe and yell and scream and laugh 😂 Then you won't run over your toe anymore. After you start just kicking around and realizing there's tons of people who are at your exact just starting level and now you have two best friends. Lol I get it but seriously I hope you just start kicking around in a parking lot. Just a parking lot is the best place to start. Find one person who you think skates and ask them where the parking lot curb spot is at. Have a great weekend! 🧙♂️

Leap of faith?
@phlooke2 жыл бұрын
If you think about it, Jamie Thomas single handedly had so much influence on the way video parts are filmed, especially the “Leap of Faith”. That was like a single moment or turning point that not only changed the game for what was thought to be possible on a skateboard, but I can’t think of ANY other single trick or skater (besides Tony Hawk doing the 900 and The Loop) that has an iconic name tied to it that’s widely known to this day. Not only does it have an iconic name, but it was so gnarly that even though he didn’t land the leap of faith…just the attempt spoke louder than words.
@Rand_al_Thor3722 жыл бұрын
@@phlooke definitely the gnarliest trick not landed but still made the ad/mag.

Tony, I was at one of the SCRAP demos outside Chicago…at the time the vert ramp was set up for BMX with huge coping…. You aired and transferred to a large quarter pipe on the street course and proceeded to backside heel flip over the pyramid hip….. I was super impressed being a street skater and seeing vert man put on a show……, long time ago, but that is how I remember it

Have been watching since the first episode, and one thing I love is that the set has not changed. No flashy shit, just 2 dudes who are legends talking shit about skating and life. So refreshing and hopefully it stay's this way. Only thing I would want more of is clips of the tricks being talked about and old school vert days. THANK YOU BOTH, Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis! Much love. And to anyone reading this, go check out the 9 clubs episode with Ellis. Hilarious and you will learn a lot about life, and yourself. Peace
