On summer solstice day (June 21st) 1984, rock legends Hawkwind played a milestone show on the historic site of Stonehenge. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the historic show, we present a full-length version of the event for the first time on DVD. Along with the stunning visual and audio performance from the band there is also footage of the festival site and some amazing material of the world's most famous stones at dawn. Amongst the tracks featured are "Stonehenge Decoded" and "Dawn" written especially for the performance. With bonus footage not featured on the original video release, this special edition is an absolute must for all Hawkwind fans.

Got the original VHS from Jettisoundz. There was also another vid from this festival which had The Enid, Roy Harper and some more tracks by the Hawks. A Particularly chaotic set by Orkwind as I remember! Favourite memories: Nik getting attacked by Vestal virgins with giant twigs, and then leading the chant of "Ken Barlow, Ken Barlow, Ken Barlow" while the Druids were "doing their thang" - F***ING A!

For the erudition and enlightenment of those who probably haven't a fkn clue WHY they chanted that - Which by the way was a sort of slow cahnt of 'KenBaloo, KenBaloo' (which the audience pretty much loved 'tho probably didn't actually 'get') - They were taking the piss. There was a fair large contingent of Druids at the festival mithering on about the solstice etc as they do. William Roache, the actor who played Ken Barlow in Coronation Street (a Brit TV program for those elsewhere on this sad globe) was (a) There with 'em & (b) Chief Druid or High Druid or some such head honcho Druid at the time. So...... KenBaloo, KenBalooooo.

No, it's Hawkwind all right, although Roy did the introductions on the evening: "Clear the, clear the stage because there's going to be something special. I'd like to present to you the night, and the future, and whoever. And maybe...The Hawks." It's Harvey Bainbridge doing most of the singing, with Dave Brock harmonising from time to time on those Native American chants, before, as per the video, Nik Turner enters the stage, then we're away. Cracking night, one of the best of my life.

Of course, having watched the video on here all the way to end, it never quite gets to the bit where Nik enters the stage, but I can assure you he did, both on the night and on the Cherry Red DVD!
