I also thought I had Hawkwind pegged and didn't listen to anything they did after the early 80s but this album was a revelation. I love it and am really looking forward to the next one.

The Xenon Codex is worth a look. Some good guitar on it and the last album to feature Hew Lloyd Langton.

Finally some Hawkwind.. praise the Lord! .. Synchronicities abound, I bought an original vinyl copy of Hawkwind's 'The Chronicle of the Black Sword' today and happened to be playing it when you uploaded your Hawkwind album review! wow!!

Hawkwind are back after a little wobble and personnel upheaval a few years back but the changes have been for he better. This is as good as they have been since the 90s in my opinion. Full on sonic sound, tight, melodic, spacey. Great album and a new one to follow soon produced by William Orbit and for the nostalgic fans a new Xin search of space release with bells and whistles. Great times in the hawkwind universe.

I had never heard of them till I read Michael Moorcock in the mid seventies and also bought his album in 75 'the new worlds fair ' with the Deep Fix aka hawkwind. A brilliant conceptual album a must for Moorcock readers.i love that Hawkwind still acknowledge and pay tribute to the eternal champion and J.C's needle gun. My favorite album is 'Thrilling stories of science and fantasy ASTOUNDING sounds ,amazing music ' HAWKWIND and the Hawklords 25yrs on ,just sonically brilliant

Loving these new fancy graphics displayed throughout this episode. Very entertaining. Great job, as usual, and I'm definitely going to be listening to this album after hearing your trusted opinion of it !

I saw Hawkwind on the back of a flatbed trailer at Glastonbury in the 70s and have always had a soft spot for them. Nick Turner retired near where I live in West Wales and I’ve seen him perform several times here prior to his departure. I haven’t heard this album yet as I’ve just started listening to 2024s Stories from time and space. If it’s better, I’ll be over the bloody moon as I love their latest offering.

Have loved Hawwkind forever. However I felt they got stale between 1995-2020 (with occasional great work but inconsistently great) and this album is definitely a breath of fresh air.

I'm coming to the end of a three month personal odyssey of listening to every hawkwind album after years of knowing their name but never listening to them except for knowing silver machine, space ritual which was my starting point and then "hawkwind" and so on, I am at the future never waits now so I came here for your thoughts, church of hawkwind is my favorite but it's a stacked field

I've just given "The Future Never Waits" and "They Are So Easily Distracted" a quick listen and I am really impressed. Thanks for putting me on to Hawkwind. It is always great discovering bands new and not so new! I'll give this a full & deserving listen and may buy it on vinyl. I checked: it is available here in Canada on vinyl.

Cheers for the review, Barry. I must say I've shied away from Hawkwind since the 1990's as I felt they were somewhat hit and miss from around 1985-90 onward. (Though I still went to watch them occasionally up until the 2000s). I will give this a listen on your advice, just to see if I can get into it without getting out of it!

There is no show like a Hawkwind concert, and as well no show like a Crimson concert. I saw Hawkwind in 1972 opening up for Pink Floyd. What a rush. Floyd was totally boring after that, except 'One Of These Days'. Later in the year King Crimson's first concert in Frankfurt in the Zoom Club introducing the Lark's stuff prior to release, with Muir. Small Club, lots of beer and talking in the audience, but quite something, never to forget.

l have been a Hawkwind fan for years and have a good amount of their music l like to listen to obscure bands that are not that well known in the mainstream bands like Gentle Giant and Renaissance are excellent also as well as Hawkwind and all three of these bands are early 70’s and 80’s bands

so strange that the band release one of their best ever studio albums so soon after one of their poorest efforts that is Somnia.
