There were reports of Republican congress members giving tours to the rioters the day before the riot and that they funded transportation to get them there. The FBI is looking at their communications and money trails, that's why they shouldn't say anything publicly about an ongoing investigation. The portion about wanting an access point to encrypted data doesn't make sense from a programming aspect. This would mean they'd have to develop, not only an encryption key and a decryption key, but a master key. Once a master key system is made on an encryption system, anyone who happens to gain access to the master key... has access to everything. Anyone who doesn't think the government will work on finding, or copying a master key to an encryption device is fooling themselves. And for that person to want us to believe it as well is trying to fool us.
