Think of this. He is the director of some of the best movies in the world with a networth of millions. If you’ve seen some other clips of him, he lives simply in a normal home, normal car, eats simple food and so forth. Does not wasting money equate to being a good person? No, but then you can question yourself; why is he making movies? This is what a real artist is like. He loves what he’s doing and he loves to inspire people to live your own life as we have seen in his movies. Hayao first got a degree in economics, to then working as an animator for 20 years before he became a director. Even then, he didn’t get successful for another 20 years. Don’t feel bad thinking back at ghibli movies. If anything, learn from his movies, get inspired by them. Even if you are not an artist, there’s always something you can learn from his movies. As Hayao once said: Being a director means to try and change the world for the better, although nothing changes. This for me is what a real artist, and human being is like.

It fills me with great joy that this moment of behind the scene was captured when they were making that great film. Now the next time I watch Spirited Away it will remind me of the hard work of what the artists did to make that masterpiece. And I would so eat Miyazaki-dono's simple ramen.
