And the one who filled in for him as ref, Genma (cool toothpick guy) Fought Baki (guy who killed him) in the chunin arena for 1 whole hour non stop just trying to get the dub, intentionally or unintentionally trying to get revenge. That's what was so cool about naruto, so many cool characters we never got time for cause of all he stuff going on. I would've loved to see the genma baki battle, hearing the interpersonal story - if baki made fun of hayate mid fight calling him trash to his friend. Naruto was special

Naruto probably has the worst Power scaling out of any anime out there. It really started out very well with the fights making a lot of sense, chakra styles, and a lot of strategy being involved to have to win a fight. After the time skip it just really became about power levels and Midway through Shippuden it just became purely about explosions and Dragon Ball Z level stuff. Completely ruining the original part of the show where even having to weave and use strategy to win basic fights.

His speciality is his versatility. Shinoni specialized in physical combat should be faster or they would be useless. So either this character was pretty useless to send a mission, or not well portrayed.
