I think next year syf would be tough considering the fact that both the piece, Hermes and Singapura suite is not that hard and also fairy demanding in terms of dynamic and clarity for both piece. Just hope those participating syf 2015 would enjoy their experience participating it. See y'all on the battlefield (conference hall) next year. XD

Beautiful piece but it ain't that easy. A lot of mood setting that needs to be done. For example, theme after the intro, solemn and serioso like March followed by the heroic theme trombone/bass melody. Grazioso trio and Furioso ending. Melody phrasing wise also, either a 2 or 4 bar melodic phrasing and not to forget balance of melodic and counter melodic lines, especially at trio. As for Singapura Suite, it's difficult in its own way too. Many parts are in the form of ensemble playing. Very exposed parts and have to keep in mind of intonation. Both pieces are equally difficult. It doesn't matter which one is nicer than that to the other. It's about playing well and enjoying the moments. Best wishes and good luck to all bands. Senior Zombie Slayer not true though. i think it's both. when you enjoy it, you will play with emotion which then in return with people liking your playing. Besides, to me, it doesn't matter if audience are unhappy, to me its more about whether you did your best. XD

Hmmm... i played the first clarinet part in hermes as well as singapura suite... i find that hermes is more of the tone colour and the band's balance... on the other hand... singapura suite is more of technical in terms of intonation and articulation...
