Wonderful performance--I wonder why Haydn didn't give more emphasis for cello carrying the lead sometimes

Haydn’s trios were mostly written for London publishers who wanted in essence piano sonatas accompanied by a violin; the cello reinforced the fortepiano base and was more about texture; the trios in short were written for a very particular sales market where an obbligato cello part was not wanted.
