First impression: I really like the look. I DO love the 3 seater couch (will there be a hide a bed option..for Tagalong Tina?) but the omission of a pantry could be a problem for some. I DO like my 22rb pantry, but I think I could make this work, especially how it opens the camper up, taking away that big structure. I hope Jayco is paying attention. THIS is exactly how I 'imagine' I'd one day modify my 22rb...the TV/panty removed and a dining bar in its place. PLUS another campsite window! LOOOOOVE 'inside/outside' trash can! Handy is an understatement AND it is in the perfect spot. When you're outside it's right where you need it. AMAZING fuse box location...no need to get this old bod down onto floor level! Just open the door and lean in! Love seeing my mind's eye brought to life, right here in your video. AND...no useless, bathroom double sink!!🥳 Thanks Josh.

We’ve essentially turned our Imagine 2400BH bunkhouse into this model… we removed the bunks, replaced the dinette with recliners and small sofa table. The bunk area is now a quasi-office/workstation area. This 2300MK is exactly what we would like for our next trailer. A little smaller, yet more roomy. Only wish list items: Outdoor griddle/cook station, and more solar. We love to boondock but can add the solar we want as we did with our current Imagine. And this model has more cargo capacity than our trailer. What slide system is Grand Design now using? We have the Schwintek and we cross our fingers every time we extend or retract the slide 🤦🏻♂️ Great review Josh!

We're looking for a new RV, and this one has a lot to like, with features that are normally in a trailer 30+ feet long. The minimal pantry could be a bit of a problem, and maybe it's me, but, I absolutely hate RVs that only have cheap 32" TVs in them. It really makes me want to look at other models that have 40" TVs. When it's raining, or too hot, we're inside, and a 32" TV from almost 8' away is not a pleasure to watch. Thanks for all your hard work, Josh!!

now this is a wonderful couples trailer. Separate bedroom. Less than 27 feet long. Love the bar stool/counter combo. If we could only get such a thing with a good old fashioned gas/electric fridge it would be perfect. Sadly I am still not sold on these 12v fridges....fine if you are always at an electric site, but if you are off grid that 200watts of solar will barely keep the fridge going for 24 hours, let alone have any juice left for anything else....and that is assuming you are lucky enough to have sunshine, and not have your rig parked in the shade. A cloudy day and you end up with warm beer. Great review of a great floorplan though. thanks Josh.

@ShawnPatterson40213 күн бұрын
@@sssophiesmom yes we have made the move to lithium recently. I now have 200 amphours of those on board. Our previous trailer did have a 10.7 cubic foot 12v fridge in it (2018-2021 we had that). It was good for even temp and nice for storage, but both of us were happy to see it go. Mind you I think some of the latest ones are more efficient (ie burning through less power) that ours was. Looks like if we ever change our rig again we won't have a choice, as the old two way fridges are nearly impossible to find any more. We do have the F150 with the Powerboost which has the 7.2kwh built in generator, so this does offer excellent back up if/when necessary, so we can definitely survive off grid with a 12v if we have to. Glad to hear the 12v is working out for you. Safe and happy camping....

In the wintertime the interior walls inside the cabinets literally drip condensation and its NASTY! Hey Josh, I really like what grand design is doing with these imagines. Like you said it’s the massive kitchen space which is something I know my wife will enjoy. And I like the little bar that you cansit at and eat. I think those work out so much better than a dinette unless you have a bigger family. I do like the privacy shades in the doors. I think they should be mandatory on all RVs. The bedroom is really nice as it seems to be a little bigger than normal. I like that and the fact that there’s a door that shuts to make it private. Awesome! In the living room, I do like the pulldown couch/theater seats. The bathroom is totally awesome ,fantastic ,darn near perfect 👌. To me road boat is fantastic. If you’re on the road, you’re only getting into it for a short period of time before you takeoff again. So that doesn’t bother me. The rubber flooring in the breezeway is really cool. I enjoy it whenever they put those in there because all your crap that you put under there doesn’t shift as easy. As for the four seasons sticker, they do me a favor and send one up here to me here in Colorado and I’ll check it out for you just to make sure the stickers on the level lol😂. And as always, I always want the twin axles. In my personal opinion, I think they’re just a heck of a lot more stable and I would feel a lot safer. On the roof if possible I would definitely add some more solar panels. I don’t see myself really Boondocking a whole heck of a lot, but it would be nice to be able to charge the batteries a bit quicker. And you asked a question a couple RVs ago on whether we would pay extra for some of the better Upgrades. My answer is yes absolutely especially if they were going to be something that I could use all the time such as upgraded solar. Great video Josh. Always appreciate you buddy. Keep Rockin Josh 🤩✌️

What do we think of it? We'd buy it. The TV's high viewing angle isn't that bad once you are reclined. I like the converter location as you don't have to scrunch down to access it. Just put in the stairs and work standing up from the door. I like the extra table for using outside. What I miss is the accent stripes on the cabinetry. To me it was one of the things that made GD trailers look a little more upscale. I have no problem with 2 door access for road mode. The fridge opens enough to get to food and the breakfast bar gives you someplace to sit and eat. Plus bathroom access. That covers the most common type of access for us. With that in mind having to use a second door on occasion to sleep isn't a big deal. In fact it is actually a safety advantage as you can leave the stairs put away when you access the bedroom adding to the "No one home " look. With the other stairs it is obvious someone is in the trailer as they have to stay out to access the trailer. I think this is very half ton towable for the right trucks. A 150/1500 series with 1200 - 1300 lbs of payload? No. A truck with 1500 - 1600 lbs of payload? Maybe. 1700 lbs or more? A qualified yes. I estimate the loaded tongue weight will probably be between 900 - 1000 lbs. 100 lbs for the hitch. 400 - 500 lbs for a couple and their stuff. At 26.5 ft it is about in the sweet spot for length with a 1/2 ton. These are better called extended season. They handle 20's at night and 40's or higher during the day well but much below those temps not so good.

"We'd buy it" really is THE test I guess, isnt it?
@oldengineer151913 күн бұрын
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yes it is. Actually to the point that my wife and I discussed maybe replacing our 2023 22MLE in 2026 with one. The dealer we bought the 22MLE from has one on the lot and we've also been looking for an excuse to make a trip out to the coast. Soooo it might be time for a road trip to check it out and see if it goes on our things to do next year. As an aside the weight stickers on the trailer on their lot show a cargo capacity of 1690 lbs and UVW of 6160 lbs. Still a decent cargo capacity and as expected a bit heavier than the published dry weight.

oh, I love this. But is there an option for it with the bathroom right by the bedroom? I am disabled and need the two together if possible. but I can deal with the distance between the two.

Yeah their 2500RL will do what you're seeking. I don't have updated footage for it but here's something from a few years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJW7Y3uOlLmhpKs

Happy New Year, Josh. I like this model. Do you by chance have the dimensions of the shower?

I do not but a local team member could measure it out

When parked for the night...can you safely open the slide just enough to pass through if not raining?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 күн бұрын
I’m learning a little bit more about this slide system, but I don’t believe this one likes it as much when you do that. If you need to do it here and there it’s OK, but you really want to make sure you fully open or close it after to let it go through an adjustment cycle

Seems like a pretty good layout. I’m liking the indoor/outdoor trash (especially as it removes it from pet intrusion) and would gladly trade that placement for an outside fridge. I’m curious, how do you keep people from coming in while you’re filming?
@JoshtheRVNerd14 күн бұрын
I do love features like that in/out trash!

Just curious...does the trailer have an external connection for an outside grill?

I’m about 99% sure it does, but I would want one of our local team members to verify

Has GD moved away from the heated massage sofas? My XLS has this but I just don’t see them in any of your review models anymore.

Lot of brands have. Likely cost driven though I can only speculate

I still would yes

Love the look and layout. I’d nix the exterior bedroom door and save some money on that. I will never have lighting or items that require a remote. Sender issues; receiver issues, parts/labor for replacements. Just give me a SIMPLE hardwired control where the remote is. Yay!!… one bathroom sink. Dumb question… why wouldn’t you have the batteries protected from weather and theft, and inside the storage area compartment? I realize batts need air but that’s a simple fix.
@bobr786714 күн бұрын
The battery is no doubt a lead acid type and must be outside for venting purposes - and being lead acid it’s unlikely anyone would ever steal it 😅 Lithium on the other hand…

Nice, but falls short in some areas. No outside kitchen, could do without the dining bar and have a pantry instead. Other than pass through no outside storage. Keep doing the road mode! Did like the bathroom.

No dining bar / with pantry was actually the original version of it ironically

Very nice shorter camper. We like to keep below a certain length. Its not perfect but very nice. I truly wish they would give white or farmstyle white as an option. This color always looks cheap to me
@JoshtheRVNerd6 күн бұрын
perhaps try a Jay Feather 22RB. Similar layout but has that farmhouse look The jayco doesn't do the GIANT counter but trades the space for a HUGE pantry instead

Why don’t manufacturers put grab bars in the bathrooms. Most of the surfaces they use won’t allow the suction cup type grab bars

The four seasons package is a misnomer. The walls, ceiling and floors have decent insulation, but single pane windows make that null and void for winter camping.
@JoshtheRVNerd14 күн бұрын
RV Dual Pane windows add no significant insulation btw. That's a common misconception Biggest thing they really do is reduce noise. If you're looking for condensation control, then you should be running a dehumidifier or two
