Hi! I love this video and i also saw the description and i agree with your every word. I am so heartbroken that the show ended the way it did. I mean the writers had thousands of other options of how to defeat the hallow, how to make the season last longer, and how to let hope spend more time with her family. Wtf julie plec, were u drunk when u approved of this season's story? I cant believe this. I thought season 3 finale was bad, BUT NOW ELIJAH DOESNT EVEN KNOW WHO HIS FAMILY IS ANYMORE. hope is left without a father, and most importantly, WHY WERE THERE ONLY 13 EPISODES. WTFFFFFF. :(

Yeah I was rather annoyed she stepped back from him. She's seen, done, and witnessed much worse. As soon as Elijah said her name it was obvious he was his old self...she was in his memories for petes sake. You thought he was a unicorn that blessed people with rainbows for all these years...come on.

He had just attacked her - ripped into her throat a few seconds ago. It doesn't matter that it wasn't "real" - it felt real and I'd imagine that in that situation that reaction would be involuntary. That reaction was visceral (she also clutched Hope), it's her later reflections with Klaus that I didn't like. But then again, that probably goes to rationalizing her feelings now. I mean, your trust in someone would be broken if they attacked you like that - even if you knew why. PLUS, this is to be expected from the writers, there is no drama in a happy Haylijah pairing. They have to throw in problems and in this case distance to make things more "compelling."

Of course they’ve both seen and done worse things- it’s not so much what Elijah was doing but the fact that he was doing it to her. It’s one thing for Hayley to see Elijah kill people that she was threatened by or wanted to kill herself (ex: Strix), it’s another thing entirely to experience that same violence turned on her, especially by the one person who was always promising to protect her. Elijah’s “betrayal” was part of what made Hayley’s death especially tragic.

I hate the way Plec ended the Originals. They all deserved so much better endings. I love your video edit because it shows the Red Door and I think it can be seen as an opening and an opportunity if only Hayley had stayed strong and really delved into the depths of the trauma Elijah hides in behind that Red Door. I can envision it holds the deep secret meaning of the brotherly bond between Klaus and Elijah. It took Klaus and Elijah both together to open that Red Door for Elijah to get his memories back. I could write some fanfic about this.
