it is not because of them... it was mutual agreement, it was a big mistake she agreed to without having a lawyer review the contract to cover her back in case of termination. She sold her name indefinitely to get the deal. I'm not saying the clause was fair or right... but you dont sign anything you arent prepared to live with

Nobody gets screwed. People take offers that seem amazing when a brand builds them up and they don’t read contracts correctly. The designer then grows in stature and forgets that. You can tell she knows that because While I totally feel for her, all her KZbin videos on the topic have just used emotional language and no business or law facts. There are so many great artist and designers out there who never had the same chance, and we havent discovered them yet. Haley knew that her career will hit if she signed the deal with them, and it was mutual benefit. Boycotting the company that brought her out to you and me is not very ethical. If someone becomes famous because you worked day and night on your publicity and marketing to make them visible, then you have rights to be protected and to benefit too. Ppl are dealing with this emotionally and one sided, which is really unfair

Hayley is in the middle of a huge lawsuit right now, and she resigned from JLM couture (the company she designed for) so the designs currently on her Instagram are by another designer. I’ve only just found out today the disgusting way JLM has treated Hayley. It’s absolutely appalling that a corporation feels they can “ own” a designer sooo much that she ends up having to change her birth name and surname. When my husband and I chose my daughters names they had such special meanings and this is the same for so many parents. And of course you want your family name to continue….that greedy corporation has even robbed her family of that and sooo far the courts are agreeing to it. It just goes to show that these large corporations are taking over the world, we think the government rules our country…nope, it’s the giant corporations and conglomerates they have more money and manipulation and who knows to what levels some go to to get their way. I hope Hayley that you win your case and the best retribution is to carry on being the most amazing designer that you are and be totally successful in all that you do and just show them who’s boss!
