Eats Marcel -> _immediately_ wakes up human; and that's separate from the 2x5 moment. Sharp teeth and claws -> "That's the one who ate Marcel." _blunt teeth_ -> wait but they're sharp af right now And then Bertholdt clearly implies that Ymir, the Warriors, and Eren ate someone, and don't remember - it seems to get forgotten so easily by most (there are exceptions). It just kind of hangs over us as a fact from 2x10 onward. I said more than i meant to. Just... I still get disappointed every time because I don't understand

It's so true, I didn't fully understand what was happening the first time because I watched it by myself. Only after rewatching do you pick up on things more. Information just gets dumped on you almost casually so that you're not really realizing the depth of what it all means right away.

@5:25 Yup. That's how it works. The show divulges more info on it throughout both halves of this season. That said, nothing is ever simple with this show, so there's an undercurrent of "unreliable narrator" going on that'll have you second-guessing yourself a lot. EDIT: BTW, a bit of Historia's and Erwin's backstories were already foreshadowed in the previous episode when they were torturing Sannes, because he straight up admitted that the Interior Police killed people to protect a secret.. We just didn't know at the time he was talking about Historia's mom and Erwin's dad.

They cut some things from the manga (like a whole mini-arc) for this part. It's mostly just streamlining, but we lost: - Pixis and Erwin debating revolutions (Pixis won't join a plan that involves infighting, so that's why Erwin has to wait to prove that they can avoid bloodshed with Historia). - Hange and Levi doing a lot more reconnaissance finding allies for the scouts (like newspapers, and merchants). Basically using Dimo Reeves' death to get the town on their side, against the government. - a funny scene with Armin absent mindedly hatching a plan to create chaos then enter as saviors to get people's approval, and everyone's like "Damn Armin's a lot shadier than we remembered" and Mikasa's like "I don't remember raising a child like that" lol - Levi's a lot harsher on Historia who struggles with accepting her new role, over her pre-Ymir death seeking personality
