Definitely think Arsenal need a new 6 next season, Jorginho and Partey are both fantastic but won’t be around much longer. Keep rice and Odegaard as 8 and 10

I still don't get why people put Rice in the 8 and Partey in the 6 when they both start, when for me it was and still is obvious it should be the other way around!🤔 Interchangeble? Sure, but steadfast positions Partey 8, Rice 6, done.
@emmanuel49897 ай бұрын
@@johnnyd1790 Partey can do both roles aswell but it would make more sense for him to play 6 while Rice plays 8. Partey just like Jorginho is a better passer of the ball than Rice and can hit those long passes from deep while Rice is quicker and more athletic than Partey so can get up and down the pitch more effectively.

It’s kind of hard to play 6 at Arsenal when one of the best 6’s in the world already plays there, Partey’s line breaking passes and press resistance moves are world class, something we sorely missed in the beginning of the season when Arteta tried the Rice 6 project and also kind of proved that pretty much no one but Partey could effectively play the Arteta 6 like him, though J20 is ok at replicating some of it That being said Rice’s ability to combine class defensive actions off ball and offensive dominance on the ball is generational. I think he’s an 8 in the Arteta system and Arteta has proven it thus far

He struggled all first half of the season as a 6 at arsenal, defensively he was solid as a rock but as the distribution hub when playng out from the back he was really lacking on the ball. It was a massive upgrade after newyear when mikel put jorginho in that role, instantly the ball started flowing through the team much better.

@@noufelouafi8313 I think OP is correct just poorly presented his argument, Declan and Struggle aren't words that should be used in the same sentence But when you look at our gameplay with Rice as a single pivot compared to when he is with Jorginho the difference is night and day. I think our league position would have been much stronger had partey not been injured for the majority of the season, his ball progression is superb.
@realthelonious25927 ай бұрын
You're getting slated but I understand what you were trying to say maybe you could've worded it better . Rice is amazing and never loses the ball but You're absolutely right that his progressive passes were lacking and anyone who thinks otherwise is free to look into that stat. I reckon it just came down to him being new and trying to build chemistry to understand our style of play without really any making mistakes. He's a big game player though and he's only getting better.
@cobbysparks98917 ай бұрын
I agree you have a good point. But saying he struggled isn’t the right word. He isn’t as press resistant as Partey and Jorgi but he has done well and he will keep improving. Great point though.

Saying Rodri is the best arguably, is an intelligent mind game. Rodri is a world class player and currently arguably the best, but Rice in his own right is arguably the best as well, so for him to be saying what pundits are saying, which is "arguably the best", Trust me, it's a mind game but he respects Rodri

This is the praise Arteta deserves. Not what you hear from some of these pundits peddling fabrications or embarrassingly withholding praise due to Arteta. When light has come to darkness, there’s no stopping its brightness. You don’t become a great manager by COPY AND PASTE. Gary Neville and Lampard tried it at Valencia and Chelsea and failed dismally. Add Thierry Henry there. Those who keep saying Arteta is merely a copycat; ask Gary Neville and Lampard how you hurt them each time you say that to Arteta because they thought management is easy COPY & PASTE! Nope. Arterta is his OWN MAN. Pep Guardiola has tried many many times to tell you that. You know yourselves. Recognize 💯
